I know it's a long shot, but if anyone is away/won't be able to make the grand final and has a spare barcode that they won't use for the GF then it would be greatly appreciated for this 20 year old uni student in QLD.

You should ask for one for the Perth game, then use it for the GF ballot. Chances will be a lot higher ?

The ballot is on Wednesday DD, so not really. This finals protocols takes some getting used to.

Theres no way in hell im giving up my barcodes, the last granny I went to was in 88.

People with successful purchases will need to provide photo id and the credit card used when picking up the tickets from the Ticketek outlets on the designated day or the MCG on GF day. Curious to see if they also match the name on the membership to the buyer.

You can have them sent to your mobile phone though DZ,  or is it different for the GF?

According to letter from MFC it’s different for the GF HB.

Tickets for successful members will be available for collection from all Victorian and selected interstate Ticketek outlets from 9am Tuesday September 25. Alternatively, from the Ticketek box office at the MCG on the day.

They also use e-tickets and QR codes, I believe.

If picking up, the ID would be for the credit card holder whos name was used to place the booking. Multiple bar codes can be used for the same entry.

Like most I’ll be keeping mine, sorry, but even if I gave it to you, we’d still have about the same chance of getting a ticket as mine’s a P3.

I was only wondering with us having to go and physically pick up the tickets if we would need to show any of the memberships. It’s not stated anywhere in the guidelines so it could be irrelevant anyway.

Yes, as I edited.

Anyone can use the barcodes. It's the credit card holder who must show ID. 

It would be unworkable for each member to pick up tickets with ID when a group booking was made.

Club members

AFL members with full/Gold membership will be guaranteed a ticket if their club of support makes it.

AFL Members with Silver membership (still on the waitlist for full) are unlikely to get a ticket. They can go in the club ballot though as their AFL membership also counts as a club membership for their club of support however it will not be the same barcode, you'll need to find your club barcode from recent club emails.

I believe Demon Zephyr's may be incorrect as it is actually the ticketek account that the tickets will be linked to, not the membership barcode, so I believe it will only be the credit card required at the ticketek place.

Adult members may only purchase tickets at Adult prices and Concession and Junior members may only purchase at the Concession price only. There is no junior price for the AFL Grand Final. Members wishing to sit together must register their group in one transaction using one credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Diners). There is a maximum of eight (8) tickets per transaction and members should be aware that registrations with more than one ticket are ‘one in all in’ or ‘one out all out’; group registrations will not be split.

Does this mean that if I register a group of 6, and one name gets pulled out of the ballot, then all 6 get a ticket? Or does it mean that all 6 need to be successfully drawn in the ballot for the group to be successful in obtaining tickets?

Am I better to register in 3 groups of two?

I would ask the question of the club, but understandably, the membership department is under the pump, and there is quite a lengthy hold period.

i would imagine that the person logged onto the ticketek account is the only one who needs to be successful

i'm not sure if at the ballot time, that virtual seats are allocated but if so bear in mind that as time goes on in the ballot the availability of say 6 seats consecutive becomes less and less possible (compared to say 2,3,4 etc). so it may be wise to split to  smaller group.

Might not be needed this year, but for future years.... 

Would anyone know, if I’m a Redleg member and I am guaranteed a GF ticket should MFC participate, where roughly I’d be seated?

I think it might be if you register in a group with priority 2 members.

My hawks supporting partner (with grand final ticket purchasing experience) said to be careful of registering with those not guaranteed a ticket, as you would be relying on them being successful. If you are in a group with all guaranteed tickets, you should be fine.

No what it means is if you put in 6 tickets in the ballot and someone ends up saying "I can't afford it/can't go" bad luck! You either buy all 6 or you get nothing.

From what I can gather it could be anywhere. They just allocate the tickets based on what section you want or "best available". You might get lucky and be level 1 on the flank/pocket or you may get shunted up the top of level 4 somewhere.

I would think that if you are in Priority 1, you get drawn out of the ballot before priority 2/3 and therefore are more likely to get allocated better seats?

I mean look I don't care where I sit, but surely if you've forked out money for a priority 1 membership, you won't end up in crappier seats than someone who got picked from priority 2 group?
