Hey everyone,

I've just discovered that a basic MFC / MCC membership won't be enough to let me buy a ticket through Ticketmaster 9am Monday (if this page is anything to go by anyway: https://www.mcc.org.au/my-mcc-membership/dual-membership-options/melbourne-football-club)

I've already booked a flight over so if anyone has a membership code that they're not using and could PM me it'd be amazingly appreciated. I promise I won't be using it for any GF ballot or anything as people have been mentioning above. Cheers.

Hey Filter - I rang the club last week and the person I spoke to confirmed that I will have access to a ticket with the same membership as you. In fact access is equivalent to the premium MFC/MCC membership. Good luck.

That's for the Grand Final ticket ballot where you (and I) are at the back of the queue (Priority 3), while MFC/MCC Premium members get Priority 2. (I'll still put in for a ticket for cousin though, and queue out the front of the MCC on Grand Final day...)

I booked my flight at the 20 minute mark of the final quarter (thanks Milkshake!). Flying on the Tigerair flight at 7.15AM on Saturday so I can get to the other Preliminary Final on Friday night and flying back on the 7.15PM flight...

A big weekend of footy awaits...

Who’d have thought there would be barely any Melbourne fans flying out of Adelaide.

Hi guys, totally not sure what I’m doing and first time in a forum. I’m trying to find out if any dees members would like to share their barcode number with  family of dees fans that had to relocate to Perth for work a few years ago. I’m happy to pay for the codes, if it means being able to get my hubby and kids to the game. We have no chance here in Perth of getting a ticket and would love to be there to cheer the boys on. If anyone can help or point me in the right direction that would be amazing. Thanks heaps ❤️?

I'm in the same boat as a few people here. I'm a Dees supporter living in Perth and would love to grab a couple of tix to make up some more numbers at the game this week. Not trying to dupe anyone and happy to try and prove it's all legit and honest intentions. If anyone has a membership number they can throw my way I'd be forever grateful.

If people are worried about sharing their barcodes for fear of loosing out on a gf ticket then why not just buy the tickets for those who need them? We have instant bank transfers now between different banks or paypal notifies of payments instantly. Could go on the website book the tickets and have the money transferred before paying for them....

Yeah I an happy to explore this option for anyone willing. Have 2.

Younger brother is going. He’s crazy. Even asking to borrow money from me. I’m sure if he doesn’t get a ticket to the GF if we make it, he’ll be at the “G” willing to pay over a thousand

I have a close friend who’s not going. Not sure if I can convince him to share the barcode because he may be fearful that he won’t get the Gf if we make it

I've forked over 7k for a Griswold European Vacation leaving at 5am on the Sunday after the GF (at 5am mind you, so if we go all the way, I'm in trouble on that flight), so a Perf trip isn't on the cards for me. Otherwise I'd be there.

It will be. I thought the same but asked the club and they said it’s all good.

These go on sale 11am tomorrow VIC time. 1 ticket per membership.

I got my Member's Pre-sale email before so for all MFC/MCC standard members, it's definitely all good.

Mind you, for a change of scene, I've just put in an EOI to sit with the Demon Army...

I’m guessing the people that are going over are made up of one or more of the following groups:

1) Live with Mum and Dad

2) Mortgage free

3) Kids free

4) Earn 150K + a year

5) Going to have a horrid October credit card bill.

Or

6) Have a spare $1100 in their car ashtray.

  • CASEY: Sydney

The Casey Demons were always expected to emerge victorious in their matchup against the lowly-ranked Sydney Swans at picturesque Tramway Oval, situated in the shadows of the SCG in Moore Park. They dominated the proceedings in the opening two and a half quarters of the game but had little to show for it. This was primarily due to their own sloppy errors in a low-standard game that produced a number of crowded mauls reminiscent of the rugby game popular in old Sydney Town. However, when the Swans tired, as teams often do when they turn games into ugly defensive contests, Casey lifted the standard of its own play and … it was off to the races. Not to nearby Randwick but to a different race with an objective of piling on goal after goal on the way to a mammoth victory. At the 25-minute mark of the third quarter, the Demons held a slender 14-point lead over the Swans, who are ahead on the ladder of only the previous week's opposition, the ailing Bullants. Forty minutes later, they had more than fully compensated for the sloppiness of their earlier play with a decisive 94-point victory, that culminated in a rousing finish which yielded thirteen unanswered goals. Kicks hit their targets, the ball found itself going through the middle and every player made a contribution.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?
