geez doc, i'd hate to read your analysis when we lose a game. there were quite a few +ves to tracc's game too.

Spot on dc. We can improve in a number of areas but we still won and we're in the lead 95% of the game. We still won a final in spite of problems. How good is to see a Dees side tackle and play tough  they took everything the Hawks could throw at us and return in equal measure. Tough hard relentless play is what wins finals.

true od. all doc's posts lately seemed to be critical of anything. he needs to lift his veil of negativity and get onboard

If we get our forward 50 entries right we will be close to unstoppable. Still the one thing that's holding us back from being an absolutely dominant side. We are still young though, the next few years will be bloody exciting. Still got Lever and Hogan on the sidelines too

How good is Viney, the last 10 minutes of the 3rd quarter he just went full on Beast Mode. Reminded me of Marshawn Lynch circa 2014 for the NFL fans here just busting through tackles.

The early HTB against Nev - goal - and the “below the knees” against decapitated Gus - goal - were disgraceful and at critical moments.

All credit to our guys for not letting it get to them.

Utter BS.

Not to mention Rougheads Selwood impersonation in the last - goal.

How sweet is this!

Feels like only yesterday I was posting about Jamie Bennell with Old dee or debating whether Scully would stay or go with RPFC.

Lap it up. Were finally playing a good brand of footy and have winners allover the park.

I believe in Melbourne.

How good was the banner?

Our Town.  Our turf.  Our Team. Our Time!

Folks, I think we have reclaimed The 'G' as 'Our Turf'!

And no-one but the Demons can call this city 'Our Town'.

What a great time to be a Dee fan!

On a side note, has anyone seen @Wiseblood recently? Hasn't posted since before the Geelong game.

Of all of us, he's been the shining light of optimism over the past few years (and yes, sometimes a little too much). But I hope now he's getting to enjoy this finals run with the rest of us.

Always been a spruiker and cheer leader for the club. I guess his services are not necessary now. If not then I hope all is well.

Did you report them to abuse phone number or to security? If a few people heard it and were prepared to support your complaint, they are outski. Pricks like that don't deserve to be there.

It's so dumb not least of which is because they have players running around for their team who would take offence themselves. Have they already forgotten Cyril?

When I was about 15/16 a Saints supporter was making similar comments about Farmer I gave him a serve and reminded him about a guy called Nicky Winmar he went pretty quiet after that.

Too right OD I've been waiting my whole life to see a Melbourne side "play like Demons" in Checkers immortal words. Not only that but seeing a midfield with the talent and guts of Oliver, Brayshaw, Viney and Gawn is something I thought I'd never see.

So th e rule now is when a player goes to pic k up the ball you run straight at them, trip over and get the free.

And don't forget to hit their head with your leg as you stage the trip.

That was a disgraceful free.

Also, a bit of Spargo love please. Not big numbers, but all of them seem to be important numbers, and great to see him getting on the end of a couple.

Yeah but he's tired and needs a rest....

Stood near the Hawthorn faithful- gee success has made them rotten arrogant A holes..

I thought the same. Guys near me wouldn't shut up all game and were at us all game, until about half way through the last when they just shut up. I looked across and just smiled. So many around us were just plain nasty with their drivel.

I think your description is a good one of many of them.

He is so frustrating. We had 15 kicks directly to the opposition in the first half and he did 3 of them I believe. Did a lot of other things that were really good but has to get rid of some of the brain fades.

One day he will bust out and kick 6 goals. Lets hope it is against west coast.

On the flip side I can't recall him losing one contest. He was very good at getting the ball.

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
