We have become a serious football team.  We can win classy, we can win ugly.  We can meet a challenge head on, wrest control and go away with it.  We have a steely self-belief that will never be denied!  I love you Demons!

Yeah this is one of the biggest takeaways over the last month+. We didn't play our best footy tonight, and some of our stars were a little under, but we still found a way to win, and win well. This is the making of a very dangerous team, for a very long time.

Not only do we all follow the greatest football club in the history of ever we are a damn good team as well!

Stevie Wonder.

Stevie dressed  Dermie & umpired, multi talented & shite at both!!!!

When I was on the way to my local convenience store to buy some celebratory beers, I had a fleeting thought that we had achieved enough for the year.

You know what? F&@@ that. As I've said before (when sober), we have such a huge  opportunity in front of us.

Why not us?

The Umpires tried damn hard to take it off us.  Amazing composure to pull control back out of their hands and run away with it.

Makes the win so much sweeter with flogs like nichols and stevic [censored] us over and over.

Wow. It’s just sinking in. We are close to a Grand Final...

I didn’t think i was going to see September ever again....

No injuries??

Tigers just crapped their shorts

If we get that Bald umpire in the PF or GF,i'll spew up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about Frosty’s torp that lead to an end to end goal?

Viney was immense, second efforts galore. Bring on the eagles!

Up the mighty demons!!!!!!!!!!

Record against top 8 sides:

Melbourne 4-6

Collingwood 1-8

[censored] oath.

Sending Geelong, then the filthy Hawks out 2 weeks in a row, to mark our return to finals. Seeing the delirious joy on the young faces in the crowd was almost as good as the result itself.

Did anyone else notice Hibberd talking to Goodwin after the game? Loved the "2 more" he gave Goody as he walked away.

These players are on a mission, and belief is high.

The Dees are back.........

The energy at the ground bottle it fellas take it to perth !

Viney was huge .

It's telling ain't it? And they finished top 4, and managed to escape scrutiny.

We just keep adding those top 8 scalps.

All when it counted!

Was thinking the same myself SWYL

Have always whined to myself that we never seem to get the good run with injuries that other clubs get at finals time.

Things are lining up for us in a way they havent for more than 5 decades.

Time to make hay is now.

Awesome WYL can you do Viney the same?

Geez what a team, no passengers, all tough and unyielding.

Spargo is a dead set pest in the best possible way.

 Farrrrrkkkkkkk yeah DEMONS

In fact, we are only a game shy of winning as many finals as Geelong has in the last 7 years.

That's off the top of my head, don't quote me on that.

On the 109 home. Last stop was Glenferrie Rd. Soooo sweet watching those sukkas skulk off! Hehe

Can not comprehend we just eliminated the two teams that have bullied us for decades.

Both teams have been responsible for some of our darkest days.   Well guess what, we are the bullies now.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
