Hibberds lap running was strong, and not idling by. Was taken out of main group early.  His running strength suggest its precautionary.

He's probably got a slight niggle. I doubt it is serious enough for him not to play otherwise he wouldn't be out on the track at all today and they'd have him doing a fitness test on the day of the game to see if he is right. Most likely he has some tightness or they are still managing him after he did his quad a couple of months back.

If it was a fresh knee problem someone would have seen the doctors/physios going through the testing motions. Likely just a 'niggle' as mentioned earlier and not taking risks.

Not concerned at all.

Hibbo is fine

Gawn is fine

Nev is fine

Salem is fine (for an Arsenal supporter)

Nothing to see here

And James Harmes carries off my bowler hat with style

He was running the straight lines well. Probably only a little discomfort when turning. Precautionary management in my opinion.

I have visions of a random Melbourne supporter whos been living in the jungles of Bolivia for the last 12 months logging on here and wondering why preseason training is starting so early this year.

It's an extended pre-pre-season camp in preparation for 2019.

Weid was last off the rack after completing some extra ruck simulation with a group of 5 which included Viney and Oliver. Other midfielders left a bit earlier.

Is he getting any taller, 'D17' ? ?

Did you notice him doing any quick lateral movements?

Sounds like another 'decoy' in operational pre-game mode. If there was a problem, even a niggle, he would not be asked to achieve that workload; it's like owning a GTHO - go fast on the track, not the backstreets of Collingwood.

BREAKING NEWS: James Harmes out for the weekend with Nits.....

My wife just told me Hibbo did a very intense training session indoors after leaving the track early. Anyone else hear this?

Or Saint Peter?

Good on ya Saty.

Did you go for a spot of duck hunting after training?

Mate I use Jurlique sandalwood shampoo and  L'Oreal beard conditioner, my nits would improve his performance not cause him an issue, as long as ASADA don't do a hair test this weekend he's fine

Moses please, I've climbed the mountain and come back with a message Roosy said Goody is the man

Nathan Brown was the past player this week, still looked really fit, was joking with Wheels who said he prefers a really good paddock

Jordan Lewis on 360 gave a 100% guarantee that Hibbo will play.

Yes me to I have climbed Mount Sinai but I didn’t get any commandments! No mention of Roosy but then again Swooper was coach back then when I made the ascent and he was blessed.

No lateral movements that I saw, just running laps but at high tempo. Looked fit to go to me.

Unnecessary.

I don't think there was ever an issue with Max's calf. The strapping you can see on his calf is to hold a shin guard on for his ruck work, not for his calf. I think this is something the commentators may not have realised Friday night and is being misunderstood...........touch wood.

I have it on very good authority that you are 100% correct - zero issue with his calf. The strapping is definitely to hold the skin guard in position.

I'm still keen on your answer to my quiz though ? (You're not allowed to say d) though or I'll have to slap you)

I'm tempted to say TMac, but I don't want any of them injured.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
