There are lots of jumpers I would hate to see us wear on a grand final day, but I'd be happy to wear the indiginous strip,  as I think it's a beauty!

I think you slightly missed my point Deemania. 

While I would love to see Fritsch released with the introduction of Smith, our back-line depends heavily on cohesion, and last week we kept a team which had scored a combined 300 points in its last two outings to just 46 points. The possible gains are outweighed by the potential disruption. 

Same with Spargo. He doesn't offer a great deal right now in terms of goals, but, while I'm not as down on Garlett as others, our forward line and overall game-plan is dependent on a concerted all-round effort to apply pressure - and if Garlett doesn't go when it's his turn, the one weak chink can undermine the whole operation. 

Ditto my other points. I've been calling for a settled line-up bar injury since around our encounter with Fremantle - where I felt we'd just about got the balance right - and even though I care very little for JKH, I would have been happy for him to have retained his position had Hannan not come up.  

 

It would be tough for the selectors to make an argument to change anyone from last week. Only exception I see is if someone has pulled up sore.

In years to come, I'd like to see the vintage video/film of the MFC's previous finals successes and particularly, this week's thumping of Whoreform, in coherence on any comparison with those 'beaut games of the past and hence, opt for a themic consistency with the same, traditional strip of the glory days ... Other than a distracting, optical dissimilarity, it would help to remind me of the hard-earned great days of the MFC carried into a present day revival.

It took Tyson almost a full three quarters to warm up, to play with resolve and accuracy; he did just a few good things across the match - hardly enough to risk playing him - and his fourth quarter was merely 'reasonable'. Bring in someone else......

Yep. How do you measure sheer will, determination and physical presence. This guy can put opposition players out of the game by legitimate tackles.

They have some stats to measure those qualities. Pressure rating being the most obvious one. Effective tackles another.

I might be one out, but I really loved the deep inky blue/black of the 160 jumper. Maybe without the fiddly overlaid text though.

Yep, just for the fact that Bugg was in and now he isn't, is a massive improvement.

Plus the form of Gus, Harmes and Salem has vastly improved since that game. We are a totally different team.

I would add that Lever, while obviously hopefully a champion for the next 10 years, had not yet gelled in that round 4 line-up and is not as big an ‘out’ in reality as he seems on paper when comparing from that game.

We also played him as this super aggressive wing when had it forward. It didn’t work...

Just remember everyone.. Tyson had a broken arm and did a super job.

In the coaches votes v Geelong Elimination Final.

Brayshaw, Harmes, Weideman, and McDonald (plus Oliver and Gawn).

The first 2 were playing on the flanks in round 4 but now start at more centre bounces than anyone bar Oliver.

The second 2 didn't play round 4.  

Either did Viney, vandenBerg, and Hannan.  Or Frost.

Not to mention the difference in our defensive structures.

We are a very different outfit to round 4.  And in very good form.

Tx Binm an  but I was being a little facetious. What about the really effective tackles? The ones we all love from Vanders that makes players get splinters from sitting on the bench for the rest of the game. Or that passage of play on the centre wing where he pushes through his own team members. They need a new stat for him along the lines of barges or ko's. Love this blokes intensity.
