I swear to god if I try at 1pm tomorrow and the whole thing is a bust again, I will lose my sh*t.

Nobody has this much time to waste on a busted up old website.

Lets hope the big traffic from the Hawks v Tigers game dies down significantly by 1pm.

Yep. I'm gonna have to stay back to actually get some work done now.

Rich/Hawks game on sale from 11.00 so hopefully they are all done by 1.00pm

Would have liked our game first as it will have the less demand on the system.  But hey, they aren't too smart when it comes to common sense...

AFL members go on sale on Thursday again at staggered times.

Do we still have the option to purchase an extra ticket for a guest?

At this stage we don’t even have the option of a functioning website to purchase any tickets at all!

I guess they've done it by order of when the games are on, which makes sense.

It should have always been staggered. Rich vs Hawks should have been today- members, then MCC, then AFL, then general release, followed by Melb vs Geelong tomorrow and so on.

It's really not rocket science is it?

I feel like if a 5 year old was in charge of the ticketing system, I would have gotten my tickets and a lollipop by now.

I know it won't help you much if you're after an extra MCC ticket, but I'll probably have spare barcodes if you'd like to use them to get your dad a ticket.

Does anyone know how many tickets the MFC is allocated for this match?

As in member allocation?

I think its 16,000 per club, but don't quote me on that.

What the actual ****? I've been in back to back meetings all day. I hear my mate who was in front of a PC refreshing 6 screens at 9 had trouble getting through. I now come on here to find that most of you haven't even got tickets! What on Earth is going on?

AFL at its finest layzie, they could not orginise a five cent toilet.

As a frustrated MCC member who can't get MCC visitors tickets, I'll be buying a few kids tickets using MFC memberships that haven't seen a shot in anger all year and then getting pass outs from the MCC reserve in to the public reserve so that we can keep our group together.

Surely must be more than  that for a first round match

NO  MCC reserved seats left, tried to buy at 1200pm as instructed by club

couldnt get through for 2 hours only to be told none are left and get this the gates to the MCC will open at 5.00pm game day

imagine the crowd lining up to get wlk up sets

What a bloody fiasco

Jaded, my daughter got 4 tickets this morning using multiple devices but said the phone was the best and only device that worked. Good luck!   This is an absolute joke what they are putting all the supporters through.

Just received official email from the club.

Additional info:  "TRANSACTION FEE WAIVED Club Members will not be charged the Ticketek transaction fee of $7.25 for Week 1 Finals games at the MCG."

A small gesture.  Still a bitter experience.

Are the $35 GA tickets allocated specific seats or just an area? Was planning on going with an MCC friend with a visitor ticket (but sold out) so I’m wondering if we can still sit in GA area with my ticket and he gets in with his MCC pass.

Good luck to everyone else on tickets but this 10+ years consecutive member is pretty much out.

My partner took the day off work to get 2 seats with no luck. I raced home at lunch and missed an hours work. We can’t afford to do it all again tomorrow, so will miss out.

It never ceases to amaze me how amateur the AFL is. We’ve all been waiting 12 years for this and just get spat on. So much money and time spent supporting a club only to go through this rubbish. I do understand not everyone can go to a finals game, but I didn’t even get a chance.

So a big F..U.. to the AFL. Sell the tickets to those who have stuck around and bleed for the clubs you dirty money hungry pricks.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
