its like having an arm cut off

It is such a perfect day here in Melbourne for good footy.

Like so many, l have learned to restrain and contain any sense of confidence. The scars of failing to do so are many and deep.

Yet somehow l have lost my strength today. Against an  injury ridden Doggies team with the Bont (who broke my heart at Dome all those years ago) out of the side and Boyd, l sense a very big win.

Our blokes know the score from here and know they have the talent around them. This game will be played above the shoulders and l think the boys will be determined to right their wrongs and make a statement.

Dees by 63 (or my last scar from the Saints game will bleed me out).

By the way, it is really great to hear so many going out of their way to attend today. It will be a small crowd but let's make a lot of noise. Good luck to us all. ?

At the MCG where we struggle and lost to the Saints just two weeks ago.

Today, aside from a a win, I want to see a modified gameplan that works on the G'.  It will take us to the next level.  Its kind of important to be able to win on your home ground.

I'm finding it quite therapeutic.

It'll be a different story on Monday when I advise the boss I need another phone.

And the ground where most of the finals/grand finals are at... HUGE problem if we don't find a way that works there, and quickly.

It's my 65th birthday today and I have to friggen work because I didn't finish what I started yesterday, so [censored] off,

What's the best radio station to listen to?

Going to the game but not sure if its possible to walk away happy. A win doesnt help our chances of making finals because I can't see us beating any teams above us on the ladder. Another game against a bottom 8 team proves nothing and the loss to st.kilda still hurts.

Yeah it does.

Unless you meant a loss doesn't help our chances of making finals.

Have we got Razor again? Surely not?!

Congratulations Doc, you old fart!!  (You're just shy of 3 mths older than me!)

Used to love you thumping the ball out of CHB to set me up for some of my goals back in the day!  We were part of a great team back then.  Here's hoping the new breed can replicate it! )

It’s ok, my wife’s family all support dogs and hate razor more than we do (and think he hates the dogs in return) so it will be quite the conundrum for ‘ol (insert favourite insult here)!

All good she has her flag which she will no doubt wave at every opportunity and if all else fails nothing like an ice cream to make it the best day ever for a little one ???

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
