Group has now split into 2 big groups with one closest to me doing 4 point kicking which then finishes in the middle group who kicks up to full forward. Clarry is one of those leading forwards along Smith and Tom McDonald.

Lewis, Spargo, Gawn hardly missing targets.

Dom, JKH, Pedi and Baker also kicking well.

Interesting given Clarry was rested at Full Forward a couple of times in Darwin.

I like Clarry resting forward.

A live training report. Brilliant!

Is Balic out there?

Many thanks @dazzledavey36

Dom is in the group in front of me and he just looks like a dejected man..

You have to wonder if anything is going on is Dom's life that is affecting his form.  He has always been a confident, talented guy. Since Oliver and now Gus have moved inside mid, he cannot really play any other role.  If I was him I would move to a team that needs some inside mids and I'd wish him all the best

Is it better to get off at Richmond station and then walk across??

The session has finished but the guys who played at Casey are doing some boundary line run throughs. Though Kent and Vanders are doing goal kicking practice with some forward while Goody stands on the mark and watches on.

Jones just doing extra touch with Ben Matthews.

Prob going to be wet on the weekend, need Lewis in the mid fresh airing balls of the ground ?

Melbourne area

Mostly sunny. Patchy morning fog, mostly in northern and eastern suburbs. Slight (20%) chance of a shower in the northwest suburbs, near zero chance elsewhere. Light winds becoming northerly 20 to 30 km/h during the morning.

Hope Stretch is ok. Would hate for him to be an out due to injury, after he just came back and showed some good signs!

Happy to answer questions now!

Nice work dazzle, did the players look sluggish after last weeks game?

Look, i didnt think they were sluggish, but i also think they would have had better training days then today. Was a bit windy at times so skills were also a bit sloppy.

Everyone seemed to move well but? The only issue is no Stretch in the track.

You're on fire here @dazzledavey36.  Cheers for the great reports throughout the training session.

Might be hard to answer, but, did you get any sort of indication of possible changes to this weeks side, or was it training as normal?

DD36 moving to Melbourne to take over the training reports and doing a sterling job.

Satys worst nightmare has become reality.

I would think it would be minimal. Joel Smith was doing some work with Crossy at the start but later joined in the main group. So he'll be fine.

Unless something is up with Stretch i can't see any changes made.

Did you happen to catch up for a coffee with any other track watchers?

People have been calling for Baker to be included, did you think he looked a chance?

Vince a chance?

Baker looked and trained well. Even while the skills were a bit sloppy, he was hitting his targets and doing everything right. I didn't see his VFL game on the weekend but i wouldnt be opposed to him coming into the side and adding some class and speed on the outside.

I would have thought if Smith hadn't come up today with that hip then maybe Vince was a chance.. but i think therell be minimal to no change this week.

I was beside a tree looking quite dodgy, so i dont think anyone was game to shout me a coffee!

Also good to see Anthony McDonald down there watching on with Todd Viney.

Cheers daz.

Did you spot McKenna, and if so, what does he look like?

Nah jokes.

Did Hoges look in good touch? We need the big fella up and about if we’re going to finish inside the 8.

Much sign of fatigue from the trip to the red centre?

Hoges looking fit and ready to go! I reckon he is due for a bag this weekend! Just looks so confident.

Tommy Mac was having shots for goal and kept missing them.. along woth Fritsch also who was not hitting right in the middle. Hopefully just blowing a few cobwebs out before the weekend.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
