At our best we can deep, I have wins v Frem and GC, outside of that are 50/50. I really hope we can turn it around from here.

Brisbane to win more games than us from here?

So glad they recently opened a Sporting Globe Bar & Grill 5 minutes up the road. Membership to good use then.

Am a big fan of Brisbane and what they're doing, Hodge is helping them immensely. 1 I picked was an upset who I think they match up well with.

he sure is

i've got us winning two more for the year too, and finishing 10th

pleasingly, i've got the pies sliding out of the 8 too

13 wins + high percentage will see a team/s scrape into the 8. 14 wins should be a definite place.

We need to win another 5 games to be any chance. I can't see this happening with our run home. We really screwed up against the Saints on the weekend and they only have themselves to blame.

How much do they want to play finals? We're about to find out.

Freo = Win

Dogs = 50/50 (Win)

Cats = L

Adel = 50/50 (L)

Suns = Win

Swans = 50/50 (L)

Eagles = L

Giants = 50/50 (Win)

No knock on your opinion Febes, picturing that ladder  if your close with it gives me nightmares.

Hodge has signed one more year with the Lions i believe?

What's that 9-12? I'm missing one somewhere but it's academic.

Please enjoy

It's a game of margins people, a game of margins! And learnings! So many learnings. Tremendous number of learnings. I knew a Learnings once, great guy, tremendous guy. Whole lotta guy. He knew another guy, Bumps, who lived on The Road. Bumps on the Road and Learnings. Going to be a whole lotta tremendous Learnings, Margins and Bumps on the Road.

Give me strength.

All good mate, as we know the ladder predictor means nothing, just a bit of fun and a guide, changes weekly. I hope I'm wrong.

Didn't know Hodge signed on again? Would have loved him at the Dees instead of Lewis. I do think we need to turn over our oldies with guys from successful clubs in the 28-30 bracket.

On current form and on the past two seasons post Darwin form, predictions of only two more wins looks very sound. Too bad we are not allowed to concede, but resting up to 10 players for Darwin  looks like a viable but insanely gutsy strategy for the big picture if we could get away with it.

Picks really do need a protection caveat. Like top 10 protected  (we keep it if it's top 10 and the following year's pick goes to the Crows or until a pick falls outside the top 10).

I still think if we win 12 games we’ll make it on %

It's my considered thinking if we were to only have won 12...and somehow had enough % ...then...I personally doubt we'd be in the eight. If were... we'd be turfed quickly.

I think it's a min of 13.. including two decent scalps otherwise they'll only best us again.

14 wins.. we have a shot. Just my thoughts

We will beat Geelong and Sydney. Buckle up the dees will hit their straps. I still think Goodwin is playing ducks and drakes!

Well he ducked when he should have Draked against the Saints, Port & Cats those three losses by a combined 15 points hurt!

Still we’ve got to step up and win four more, we are doing a lot right, just need a few things to happen:

- minor improvement going into forward 50

- back six stay a bit deeper, with a player almost being a goalkeeper in the square (like the Tigers)

- increase two way particular defensive running, so don’t get carved down the wings with teams on a break

We do the above and we win four plus of the last seven.

Go Dees!

Using ladder predictor the 2 MUST WIN matches that will assure us a place in finals (5th) are beating the Crows in Adelaide and the Swans at the G.  Both matches effectively 8 point games for us (and them) given where the clubs are presently positioned.

Drop either of those and we are more than likely toast.

Beating the Cats against the odds next week would mean only having to snatch one of the above however.

Can’t see us winning both unfortunately. I think we will finish 9th or 10th. The loss to the saints etc are going to prove costly once again.

I now have 9th, need a good string of form, the Port and STK losses are going to be costly unless we have some upsets on the way home.

    UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

    Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
