Is this the first time McCartin and Petracca have played against each other? From the same draft year Lever and OMc should find themselves on Paddy during the match

PS. Just found this 2014 HS article saying St Kilda would take Petracca. Thank god they didn’t

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/st-kilda/christian-petracca-set-to-join-st-kilda-with-no1-draft-pick/news-story/c481c0de624fae589da45dc449a9219c

I don’t get much juicy afl gossip, but I can say for an absolute fact that GWS we’re not trading picks 4 and 7 so they could get Petracca with pick 1.  They were after someone else.

Interesting article. i think it is the first time they have played against each other.

And we are playing a poor team. The Weid is playing in a forward line where he is clearly the third best tall so should get the third best defender. If cannot play a reasonable game this weekend then he never will IMO. It is put up or shut up time.

A bit strange OD. You'd write him off if he doesn't have a blinder this weekend?

He has shown a bit this year. A few of his contested marks have been fantastic. Not sure if he is ever going to be the 6 goal a game fwd though.....way too early to be writing him off.

So you would call time on a 20 year old key forward based on this game ?

You and those who have liked your post have no clue.

Acidic yet adolescent comment.

Anyone know if Hogs and Tracc passed fitness tests yesterday?

Not reading the whole topic?

They trained fully yesterday without an issue

Trac marked and handballed

Hoges moved freely with no strapping anywhere

Nothing gets past you...

Thanks for the update.

At Etihad against the Saints. They’re not as bad as people think. Demons, but it will be tough

No, listening on the radio occupied me last night, hoping that the Brizzies could knock off the Filth in Brisbane - all about ladder position after the round, this morning. Then another famous SA power failure overnight - that we pay good money for - just for the inconvenience of it all. Now to take the dog to the veterinary clinic - I swear this guy is attempting to make his fortune in just 3 years! However, 'Deemented Are Go', it was a good win but it could have been catastrophic for the Saints with a jiggle of those who played and those who battled (and battled quite well, too). Next week holds some interest ... must study the form of the fit.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
