65 tackles to 102 with Oliver having 10 of those tackles. The players don’t care.

Garlett wont put his body on the line. Fact.

I could understand anyone being tempted

If this continues it will make me look back on Neeld's time with fondness.

Who are our leaders on field? No one stood up. It was was just dumb football all round, no footy smarts. Hawthorn kept kicking it long the ground that whole 3rd quarter and we kept trying to pick it up. How hard is it to play wet weather footy?? Surely that would have to have been the message at half time.

We played dumb and got outworked. Pretty pathetic.

Culture and coaching are out two biggest issues followed by half a list of mediocre unprofessional footballers.

What a bunch of pathetic blokes.

Am shocked at this performance

Below 100% in one game. Weaker than Carlton. They have an excuse. They are [censored].

I’m looking at the positives here. I’ll save money when I cancel Foxtel.

I had 50 on hawks at $2.20.

$110 collect tonight..

The Melbourne players have all gone home!

What a deplorable effort!  13 seconds from one Hawthorn goal to the next!

Has anyone told them they're supposed to play the WHOLE game!

Better take the lanyard out. The metal clip could get messy

What happened? The first quarter was fantastic. What the hell happened?

The Hawks were very busy applying pressure on us, whenever they could in the 1st Qtr.

This IS the Key.

For a contested ball winning team, after winning the clearance, OUR quality disposal is the most important thing from that point.

This is where Clarko knows US,,, and he got us;  Just as he has done to other teams... eg:  the Swans in that Grand Final against the Hawks.

Clarko:-   apply relentless pressure until the opponent CRACKS UP_  make them gun-shy for the rest of the game, and they will feel it ALL game.

Unfortunately WE start to panic,,, before our players do, and we start to "eat our own"_ vocally, with our venom.

Our negativity becomes loud and vocal at US,,,,, instead of at our Opponents.

The opposition team also Feels this negativity against our own__  and they inturn grow another LEG. we boost the opposition,,,handing them a game on a platter for the taking, IF they can.

And the Hawks never need be asked, a 2nd time....   they take it and off.

.

Remember how they sulked about the bootcamp before christmas.Have a look at this performance. No excuses now

lol bugg

Turn the sprinklers on at training this week, we have no idea how to play with a wet ball

Yes it is obvious to all but Goodwin apparently

Wow. I’m glad I got dragged to a wiggles concert, I caught the last quarter. What a pathetic team we support sometimes.  We have beaten no one of worthy this year.  The tigers will do us by 120next week if we play like this.

our kicking skills are sublime

Another positive is I can plan a business trip in September without having to go in the bye week and miss my birthday.

Are we ever going to be consistently any good?

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
