GAMEDAY - Round 1

Here we go, I love “Gameday”. I think we have a competitive team that will thrash in all day. Watching the other games so far it's going to be a very tight season. If we think it will happen or someone else will do it we will get rolled.

Need every player giving 100% which I think is reflected in selections.

Look for leadership during flat patches to be our biggest sign of improvement.

Oliver to break Mitchell's record, Gawn BOG.

Go Dee's. 15 points.

If I hadn't of tipped "Hawn" for BOG and had to change spelling I'd have won.

2 boys under 5 have you up early.

Can't wait for Joeboy's assessment of Tyson's game.

Oh yeah, I forgot.

Max Gawn is the key to the game.  As will be the case in almost every Melbourne game.

Dees by 27.

Quite warm here in Vermont, overcast but dry

How’s the weather fairly heavy in Ballarat, I love game day jumping on a train at 11 then grab some lunch followed up with a few beers, hopefully an enjoyable day, I have faith though I think we will win, I haven’t dropped a tip yet this weekend so don’t want to start now

Who knows? You could be right.

Kurt Russell may have given her the all clear to fly over and pull the boots on at the tender age of 73.

Anyone know where we go to get member scarves?

Havent seen anything from club about it.

Rightio then.  Here we go.  We are back on!

Come on you DEES.  FFS, return the love to us this year Melbourne.  Return the God damn, mother %^&*$#@ love.

She’s a bit windy in Kensington.

Where’ a good place for a few pints and a feed before the game?

Last time I went to beer deluxe and drank half a dozen 9% IPA’s and couldn't recall much of he game. Would prefer not to do that today.

Head off now Steve. You should be able to do a decent pub crawl between Kensington and the G.

Probably trip over Moonie on the bar floor of one of them.

Anyone know if you can scan the barcode of an MCC guest pass on your phone or do i physically need to print it ?

I’m not familiar with the location of Melbourne’s sly grog shops.

No reason why it shouldn’t work... I use photos of my missus’s coles and woolies rewards cards. Same thing you’d think.

Yeah you'd think so. I printed the ticket off at work and bloody left it there and now I'm trying not to go into work

Every beer tastes good when Collingwood are the laugh of the town.

There aren't any good pubs in Kensington but it doesn't matter. Enjoy.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
