Best of Melbourne 2017

Ok lads,

can someone more talented than I at media, put together a reel of best of dees 2017 so I can enjoy it and get merry over Christmas? Need not be long, or a short vid, but whatever you can muster. BTW, I would watch every game on AFL.com but I can't remember my details:

feel free to just add highlights

PS - I hate cricket...

Hiya, Nuts. Agree strongly with your request, above. Would be phabulous in the extreme, as last season was a long-awaited eye opener for the Dees, providing us with some incredibly good football to savour but access to critical plays are virtually unobtainable. Good one.

I still have a number of Foxy Footy Superstar month 'Max Gawn' episodes from 2016 on my IQ which I refer to for inspiration.  Had Max remained uninjured and retained that sort of form 2017, we play finals.  I actually think much of our compeditiveness and 2016 finals chance came more via Max, than it did season 2017.  Really hoping that Max 16 + rest of MFC 17 = Demon Finals 2018.

Sorry for going slightly off topic but it's not worth starting a new thread.

They were showing Superstar month games for 2017 a few weeks ago on Foxtel but I didn't come across one of our games. If they did put one of our players on I definitely missed it.

Did you happen to see if they put us on last month?

Also, Foxtel currently showing  Best Of 2017: Cliffhangers. I tuned in and saw they had the Round 22 Freo v Tigers game on. Tigers won that by almost 50 goals, how is that a cliffhanger?

Yep, I was kinda waiting to see if they were going to put on any of our players, to some disapointent.  Doesn't bother me in a way though.  I'm quite happy for us to be low on hype and fly under the radar of the media during preseason this year.

Flying under the radar is good for the start of the season, although we can rabbit on a little amongst ourselves because the Dees are an unfavoured team, by most accounts - certainly in the media and certainly by Sam 'the brainless' Newman. I don't mind if they all (the media) have their rogers growing out of their foreheads in blind prejudice  - because it is another indication that they 'cannot see for nuts'! Outside the supporter and club groups, I would doubt if our best 22 were fully known in the media's mindset. Still, nice to come into a match as an unannounced underdog and cream their dreams by quarter-time - and we will do it, this coming season with some massive victories across many games. 'Carna Dees! Remember the Crows game at Adelaide Oval in 2017?

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
