Just got an email from MFC about finals ticket packages.

I see they start at $1300.

Anybody got some more details on the prices and packages

Might be interested if we win the next three :)

Like last year I'd hold off to last rounds !

The longer you wait the more likely they will all be sold out - every club has only a limited allocation.

Ball is in your court - if you miss out you can really only blame yourself. But, I’m sure some will blame the club or the AFL such is life.

I had mine posted to me on the 19th of march and it still hasn't arrived. There is something not right here. Another call to membership I spose.

Surprised St Kilda have more members (500-1000) than us considering we've had more members than them the last 3 years, and also factoring in their horrid start to the season.

We have 3,000 more members than North, who themselves have slipped a little over the last couple of years.

The Dogs don't publish their number but I suspect their membership has shrunk since the 16-17 off season.

i'm told a fair number of cats Dogs and ferrets count themselves among StKilda's numbers

The only thing that really matters at the end of the day is revenue generated from memberships, not the number.

Giving out memberships is only patching over the issues, which are deep judging by reports of the Saints finncial performances the last few years.

Pay $1 now and pay the rest later. The $1 paid counted towards their total membership numbers. I’m guessing quite a few didn’t pay anymore money toward it.

Thanks for those figures.

We've come a long way since the PJ/Roos era started and added some 10,000 members.  But disappointingly we are still at the bottom of the Vic teams.  I suspect North is somewhere near the same level.  Even, Carlton are now 51,860

Anyway, we are moving along slowly and today we are 42,057

Just 178 to go to beat last years record.

But sadly I don't think we will reach any great heights this year.  I'm at a loss to understand why our membership is not increasing rapidly.  One wonders whether, even if we win a Premiership, we will reach the 'dizzy' heights of 50,000 members let alone the fantasy land 70,000 to 90,000 levels of the big clubs.

Revenue is important to Clubs but Sponsors and TV Broadcasters care about the Numbers.

The more members the better FTA broadcast time slots, more profitable opp at the G, more merchandising, more match attendances and more attractive to sponsors etc etc etc.

Agreed. But if a team is inflating their numbers the sponsors will know about it. Plus they would also want to know average game attendance, average TV audience, number of full season members v a few games etc.

There would be a lot more to it than just the number a club promotes on its website.

By memory a membership doesn’t count unless it is $50+.

I thought the $1 thing was a good plan by the Saints. You had to give your details so if you didn’t follow through the Club could contact you. As you’d already signed up you must have had some interest in the Club.

Smart move by the Club

Worries me as well. One would expect a bump this year even if it was only 1-2%.

Carlton are perhaps vulnerable as one of the power clubs.  Next season is the time if we can to pass them and claim the revenues and TV exposure that goes with it.

No finals in a bazillion years, hardly won for most of those years, have choked the last two years when finals were in our own hands. Constantly fall to crappy opponents...

I would have said we would have upwwards of 5k members more right now if we played finals last year.

The number we have even currently is fairly impressive for a club thats done sfa really for over a decade other than make headlines for all the wrong reasons bar say the Jackson years and yet we've still managed negative press as a result of perfecting pretense.

You can only coax so many people so many times with promises.

Actually start succeeding.....then they'll come.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
