Seems like a fairly good draw for us. Round 2 and back-to-back interstate Round 3 & 4 very important. Actually, every round is very important but I think our team learned that the most out of anyone else in the AFLW this year. Might put us in good stead. Much like the men's, hopefully just falling short motivates that little extra something in 2018.

Anyone else disappointed that there'll be no double-headers this year? I thought it was a good way for fans to see two games in a day, and for the AFLW to motivate supporters to come along when they otherwise might not.

That is a really friendly draw for us.  Playing the Crows at home should give us a solid chance against them.  If we knock them over then it could very well be a top of the table clash in round 6 against Carlton (I really rate Carlton this season).

Feb 24 in Alice Springs at 5.40!

Does the AFL know what the temperature is like there at that time of year?

And on top of a 6 day break coming back from Fremantle, then another 6 day break after the Alice Springs game.

Good catch.  That Brisbane game suddenly looks a lot more challenging.

The thing about such a short season is that a run of tough games ends up being half the season! It must go past in the blink of an eye. I guess everyone's in the same boat (more or less). Just really hoping we hit the ground running this year.

Do you have to ‘buy’ tickets to these games, or just show up and scan your demons membership card or just walk in?

They were previewing the opening round of the AFLW on SEN today and I'm sure I heard it's free admission to all games except the round 2 Freo game in Perth against the Pies where they will charge $1or $2 for entry to the new stadium.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
