Yes, and yes. Credit to you for owning it. My bad I guess for having a problem with supporters potting players unfairly, but it deserves calling out, so I did. 😉

And it was fair enough. I think we were all stressing in that 2nd qtr and the Game Day thread isn't the best place to vent that.

But I thought carrying on with it this morning was unnecessary.

Brown’s arrival has made him 100 times better because now he’s playing on Easton Wood instead of Alex Keath

Yeah. We all know what you thought.

Wow. First flag in 57 years and the morning after you are doing this.

Have always enjoyed your posts, especially the insight you give on injuries. But this is petty.

Plays as deepest forward who moves to find space. Expecting sublime defensive work is a moot point because most times he’s out of position to impact.

Kicked the same amount of behinds as 2020.

But an extra 37 goals.

https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/822832/tricks-learnt-in-2020-but-more-to-come-for-fritsch

“In the past I’ve probably been a natural sort of kick – I haven’t really had a routine or anything, but as I started to kick points I probably over thought it a little bit.

“I think I’ve got a clear path of what it looks like next year and I can tell you I’ll be kicking a lot of goals in the off-season, so hopefully this time next year we’re not having the same chat.”

The effort definitely paid off. What a season.

Hardest position to play consistently. And Fritta plays it like a superstar. Couldn’t be happier for him.

Fritsch is a star. Had an outstanding year. At the end of last year people were critical of his inaccuracy in front of goal but he addressed that issue very quickly. 59.24 is a great achievement.

Also worth remembering that he kicked 12 goals in our three finals games. You couldn't really ask for a better finals series than that.

Must say I was wondering who would have a day out if we won big.

Great to see it was Fritsch

Did you notice he was second behind Petracca in the Norm Smith with 10 votes. Every panelist gave him second best on ground.

Quite an achievement

What a great player this chap has become.

Our leading goal scorer for the year and SIX in the Granny. Just wow.

Hes a lightweight that scores like a heavyweight.

That goal he kicked after flying high.....the ball coming out the back.....him keeping his feet and getting ball to boot at warp speed was supreme.

Also fixed his inaccuracy and kicked 6 and 2.....one of them a poster.

Edited by leave it to deever

Finds space, protects the drop of the ball, keeps his feet and kicks well.....when I first saw him at Casey I thought he was a prospect but never this.

6 goals by "Fritta" in an AFL Grand Final is the stuff of legends!

He played a fantastic game! He is officially now the most famous person from Coldstream out in the far East of Melbourne!

Um, no.

Dame Nellie Melba probably has him covered.

Running at 71% accuracy this season which is crazy numbers. I was calling him "Five Chance Fritsch" at the start of the year because he was so unreliable. Really showed me.

I don’t believe I have ever seen a player crumb his own failed speccy attempt for a goal. Must have happened but can’t recall seeing any.

Not this millenium.

He would have taken it if Maxy didn't get in the way! Had a great sit

Our only consistent fwd / goal scorer for the year. Absolutely critical player.

he is still underrated somehow?!?

Fantastic year from Bailey

59.24. Great contribution playing as a permanent forward. His Goalkicking accuracy was the key.

Had lowest avg disposal count and avg marking count of his career but was so effective and dangerous.  Vindication of his forward status and he’s not a half back/winger.

You’d have to go all the way back to 20 minutes earlier when Roarke Smith did it :)

He turned 180 in mid-air ready to run into the goal with the crumb…..outrageous, but just what Fritta does.

Never was. Frustrated the hell out of me that he wasn’t played forward in 2018. I love that Goody has publicly owned this as ‘poor coaching’….humility is a big part of his coaching brand.

Roarke Smith in the first quarter on Saturday night did almost the exact same thing!

Haha, should have read the whole thread before I commented!

Would he be the skinniest player ever to kick 6 in a GF?

You would have to say Fritsch has had a more interesting journey than most AFL players slogging it out in the EFL and VFL before making it to an AFL list then starring in a grand final.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
