Round 23 Non MFC Games

What keeps me going for this game is that, even without Tex, the Crows have so many different avenues to goal.  They'll get on a roll at some stage.  Eagles will hang around but the Crows will probably score at least 80 points, meaning the Eagles need to put up 100 to make it.

They'd want to get their skates on... 1 goal in 20 minutes...This low scoring is suiting WC to a tee

Starting to not care, if we don't make finals, we have ended the season with a loss to the pies. If we do, we get smoked in an elimination final - just delaying the inevitable really.

Almost every team gets overawed in its first final. Do you want that to be this year or next year?

This time last year I found myself having to support the Pies (I think) for a slim chance of us to make the eight. They lost and I recall saying "I hope I never have to cheer them on again". Today is the same for me. We had an opportunity to make our own luck, but instead, our finals birth rests upon that of Adelaide. So I'll be tuning out, getting on with my Sunday, and will view the final result later.

Ok. We're up by about a goal on them and it's not even quarter time yet. Come on Crows. DO SOMETHING!!!

Not looking good, Crows look off their game and Eagles desperate.

Considering West Coke cost Adelaide the double chance last year you do have a point.

Apart from that I dont sure what other motivation they would have.

Personal pride

A pre-finals 'kill'

Knocking a rival out of proceedings

Exerting superiority

Practising the game plan

Being professional

Winning form

I used to think & play that way and I was just a suburban hack

game over guys. west coast we're always going to win because they are playing for a spot in the final. adelaide are finishing top no matter what. we are just losers

Adelaide's forward structure is almost non-existent right now.

The live online betting odds always fascinates me....Crows are now at $4.40 with Eagles at ( not sure because betting was suddenly suspended) ???

Just came back and Crows at $3.50

Someone must have put a lot of money on the Crows

C'mon Crows, lift your game!

WCE a single point ahead of where they need to be...

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.
