If (when) we beat Collingwood (and secure a finals spot) I will ...

Watch the other games intently and hope Richmond lose

Partake in the thread that has the undoing of our finals opponent.

Up here in Nsw there's a touch of Spring in the air.

It's not just the weather its the fact that MFC is an inch away from playing finals after a long long time.

Kinda feels like Grand Final week.

I don't know what I'll do to be honest. It feels a little surreal.

Dare we dream again?

Havent been in the finals for 11 years and the first time we look like making it, i have a holiday booked for all of September in Canada.

Who would of thought?

It's called conditioning.

Just be so happy.  Win on Sat and the after match song will be sung loud and proud.  And share the joy with our tribe. I want to see the joy on the faces of all the older fans, the mums and dads, any mainly, the kids who have suffered over recent years. I want to share the joy with my two sons who have grown up only knowing defeat and disappointment and who have endured the rubbishing from mates. To see their hope and enthusiasm this year has been like a blood transfusion. They feel proud of their team for the first time.  Rejoice after all the years of negativity and the disappointment of not playing finals.  To look forward with hope and optimism to 2018 and the years ahead.

It would be so exciting, 11 years sitting in the outer watching the boys with only the odd ray of sunshine in an otherwise miserable decade....feeling like it's never going to happen again...I'm not sure I'll be able to cope *if* we get there!

Same for me!  My 23yo, 14 yo, and 8 yo are well and truly indoctrinated MFC. Great to see their dees in a final and be able to get something back on their Collingwood and Hawthorn mates?

Enjoy beating Collingwood for the 5th time in a row!! Breathe a huge sigh of relief and look forward to enjoying MFC in a final, no matter where. GO DEES!!

.....Have 2 weeks to get my voice back.

Working this weekend. The team at work knows to stay well clear if we are getting beaten. Can get a tad snarky.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
