Is Weed playing drunkn ? Have not heard his name on the radio

No, I think he's sober.

yeah Sammys playing but the Essendon defenders have really out a lot of work into, he has gotten a few touches though

Speaking of Weideman he just took an impressive mark going back with the flight and stabbed a fantastic pass to Pedo in the pocket, and against a swirling win pedo nails a low belter through the posts!!!

Gus has been fantastic, a little fumbly which you can expect from being out of the game for so long but has been going in hard and has had a lot of disposals

Casey just got another great team goal against the wind to be 7-7-49 to Essendon 5-8-38

How is Gus going?

I've just started listening to the stream and just heard, "Brayshaw, having some sort of a game . . . "

As long as he gets through unscathed, but good to hear him already getting good touch.

Yes Gus is wearing a helmet

against a very strong wind Casey are just 4 points down coming into the last quarter, which they will have the wind

Casey 7-8-50 to Essendon 7-12-54

Bombers 4 points in front at 3/4 time.

Essendon VFL 7.12.54 lead Casey Demons 7.8.50

Goals Pedersen 2 Ferreira Fritsch Gent Scott J Smith

Disposals Kennedy 24 Brayshaw Maynard 20 Wagner 19

Gus Brayshaw picked up 11 touches for the quarter.

Casey should be able to capitalise with the wind this quarter and finish off very strongly

Flatulence?

First goal of the quarter to Casey from fritsch thanks to a line breaking run by Giobbi

Fritsch is a  gun, surely he will end up on an AFL list.

Angus has 20 disposals at 3 quarter time.

Straight back in to the firsts.

Great news that Gus is having a ripper game!

Thanks for the updates guys!

he will certainly be rookied (hopefully by us).

He has a light frame (at present) but can find the ball and take a mark at VFL level

He should fill out. His old man, was a big bar steward.

going by the radio feed, we now lead by 13 points at the 12 min mark

I reckon he will go before then. Maybe 3rd round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.
