"I reckon they are going to become a lot of peoples second team this lot" - Bruce

Any chance the siants could kick straight? My god they have gone form a high to very very low. Like the tigs last week.

Did anyone see fox footy? Apparently Ed is back in the country and let fly at journos knocking Bucks.

Is my hearing failing or did I just hear Bruce say, with all sincerity, "I reckon they're most people's second favourite team," when referring to Essendon?

Jesus Christ. Just hang up the microphone Bruce.

This footy is confusing. This is a team who lost to the bottom team 2 weeks ago and now they thrash the saints. Thanks saints for ruining the start of my weekend.

Umpires a bit harsher on prior opportunity tonight vs recent weeks...

If he says "that was clever" again someone should stab him.

I think you can safely put a line through the saints they are finished, there next 4 games they'll be luck to win 1 of those.

"Stops and Props"

has said it every game for 30 years!!

Saints have Sydney next, then port, WC and us. And now % is screwed.

They just lost their season tonight I reckon!

That run home for the Saints looks diabolical ....

Essendon still need to win four of their last five to get to 12 games so I think they are still in trouble

How exactly does one 'prop' Bruce?

Lloyd made a good point. They lack line breakers. We have plenty of them!

They have one of the easiest draws in the league to finish the season

I wouldn't mind them kicking some more goals now the Saints, as the Bombers are on 107% Somekind of middle ground they both could occupy at around 103-105 would be nice.

Essendon must've sent Richmond out for the last quarter.

The Sydney and Brisbane losses will cost us playing finals.

We won't make it this year.

More a case of the Saints stole Richmond's game plan from last week

Parish had a massive 12 disposals to 3/4 time. Wish we took him over Oliver! Bwahahahaha!

Both players in their 2nd season, hopefully both have long careers ahead and both clubs have great players.

I wouldn't judge Parish on 3 quarters of football.

The same way I wouldn't judge Oliver on his Friday effort against the Swans 2 weeks ago.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
