No Watts, Tyson, Hibberd. Kent we know about.

Squad of 28. You'd reckon if we're going best 22 (24 for preseason?), as per Drunkn's wink wink that the likes of ANB, Garland will come out.

I'll be intrigued to see if we trial Gawn and Spencil in the same side.

We're also missing Frost.

Dogs missing Bontempelli, Dickson, Picken, Smith and Wood from their grand final side. So the quantity of outs are pretty similar for both sides.

Not sure what the rationale is of having Hibberd, Watts and Frost out, particularly as I am not aware of any injury concerns with the latter two and all three would have to be best 22?

Mostly toothless ,fat, ugly ,disgusting poor people Sir WYL.

Nobody worth worrying about.

Biff, you of all people, should appreciate diversity and "the rich tapestry of life."

Its why you have so many friends on this site!

Somewhere behind your facade is a kind, caring man who appreciates all of humanity.

We are all spirit souls and universally connected even to the toothless, fat, ugly and disgusting poor people. Remember they are in the majority. And you must have lots of like friends at the GAT and also in the bars and clubs of SE Asia.

By the way can you tell us your height, weight, facial characteristics, and bank balance. And post a candid photo of you and your smile.

They're only practice matches

With the outs on both sides, will be an interesting test. One still has to stop and remember that we are playing the current premiers. Amazing or was it all a dream!

Would love to see some of the fringe players get a run.

Seeing Jordan Lewis in Melbourne colors is getting me pretty excited. Not going to lie. Let's hope he regains his 2014/2015 form.

Second in Hawthorns B&F not good enough for you?

And Mckenna.  Possibly the logic of leaving Watts out is that they want to see how the forward line looks with both Spencer and Gawn playing (and Weidemann / Hogan).

Yes, but it's our first opportunity to see some of the newer guys like Jordan Lewis and Jake Melksham. Aside from that though, the main source of excitement is that footy is finally back!

His 2016 form will suffice of course. But throughout 2014/2015, he was one of the best midfielders in the comp.

Aren't we allowed to,play the rookies (Keilty/Smith)?

Based on the MFC Tweet - Joel Smith will make his MFC debut.

Interesting seeing that he missed the Intraclub last Friday.

I'm to see how he goes as I have high hopes for him.

Interseting also in terms of drunkns guess that we plan to select clise to our best lineup, meaning few young playwrs will get a guernsey

The rationale is that it's the pre-season and they like to give others a chance to prove themselves.  Hibberd has had a few injury concerns and they may want to use Watts and Frost in games 2 and 3.  Are you going to argue the rationale of giving others a rest when we play next week and others miss out?  Not hard to work out after years of watching pre-season games.  They always rest a few.

They're practice matches...they are used to see how elements of the game plan work against REAL opposition. They're practice games to evaluate how certain players can or cant play at this level.

They're a chance to ruck antlers in a meaningful way...there are NO Points available...no sense giving away ALL of your tactics before they are.

No Silverware, no points, just a run in the park

I think Watts is out to let Spencer and Weed have a decent run at it. Same with Frost to let Oscar, Wagner and hopefully even Joel Smith to have a good go.

The 3rd game is the one we need most of the best 22 in for.

For the first 2 games I want to see as many players get a run as possible. Ideally I'd play all of the 35 or so fit players.

For the most part, every teams opposition analyst will have a general idea about our game plan by the end of week 1. Practice matches will of course expedite that process. But it's worth it because like you said, through practice matches, we get to test the efficacy of said game plan and amend it when necessary, without facing any significant repercussions. I think this is a very valuable process. Describing it as ''just a run in the park'' is an understatement, at best.

Good to see us and Dogs have comparably strong line ups. should be a tight contest and will get the blood pumping again

Johnstone if kept in, will see this as his chance to steal an unliekly fwd pocket spot if he sparks

it will be great to see JT play and see Weed and Hoges along side each other

I'm predicting Tracca to have chins wagging after the game - the blokes a machine

Correct!

They're of zero worth when we come second.
