Why is Huey in the D league?

Apparently he has been crook the last week or so, so he is just taking it easy in the D league

Half time and it's a repeat of the Semi Final massacre.

Box Hill lead 14.7.91 to Casey Scorpions 4.4.28.

Is Cyril playing for Box Hill?

What a great name Box Hill is!

Who thought of it and why??

The bloke that settled it named it after his home town in England

Box Hill in Surrey looks like a very nice place. Apparently named after the Box trees that grow there.

The man who invented television (John Logie Baird) lived there and conducted some of his experiments on the Box Hill.

Must say I like the local Box Hill Oval (Vic)

i've even been known (on an adventurous day, and with the appropriate apparel) to make it as far as the wilds of box hill north, bbo

You need a passport too DC, especially if venturing into Box Hill Central shops. And foreign currency.

middle of the ground reminds me of the old suburban vfl grounds. plus the 50m arc only a metre or so from the centre square. wonder why they couldn't play at carlton.

wonder if the locals still spit on the players as they go through the race

Cmon Scorps!

Look forward to KC and other posts coming through this arvo, unfortunately working. Let's hope they turn up to play. How stiff is Grimes, can't take a trick. GO SCORP's!!!!

Joel Smith has been in a lot of the play so far vs his normal form. He's switched on.

Col Garland has been hot in defence too.

Should recruit Tim Smith!! Needs to get his bod and work rate up for AFl level probably but looks the goods as a very nice medium tall forward option who also applies forward pressure nicely!

Seeing this game  is on TV and radio and I'm going to need battery life, I'll only be on sparingly this afternoon.

It’s Game Day and the Demons have made the long trip west to take on Fremantle tonight at Optus Stadium. Can Melbourne make it two from two to start the season, and what are you hoping to see from the Dees under the lights in Perth?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Night’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
