Can he be cleared from them without them knowing anything about it?

No idea, but i must admit i don't pay all that much attention to posts with "Inside info" outside of Chook in Perth these days who seems to be on the money more often than not,

Right on cue:

possibly the most bizarre yet compellingly intriguing trade period for a long time. Only a week in and more left field hits than I can recall.

Week 2 promises a humdinger of a circus.

Roll on....

Yes we might actually sign someone.

So you have sources at Brisbane now? I thought your footy sources were inside the MFC.

No.

Interesting little interchange on Twitter involving SEN and Inside Football's Brett Anderson and others. It's been going on for the past 24 hours:-

Tony G: Has the landscape changed for us today on the Lewis to Dees?

BA: Yep

DaveD: Lewis will be at Demons next year

StephenM: will it affect the hibberd deal?

BA: nope

StephenM: how will they get it done?

BA: hibberd 2nd rd. Lewis maybe 3rd

TG: done by Monday?

BA: no idea

(moved to a brief discussion on what the bombers will be doing in this trade period - not much)

TG:  Brett, I've just heard Rockliff to Dees. Dunn & picks involved.  Have you heard anything?

The last post was two hours ago but no answer yet from Brett Anderson.

Perhaps Brett, if you post or view Demonland, we might cut out the middle man and get your answer here in these pages?

Agreed   what does a contract mean again?

Nada, zip, zilch.

people worried about Rockliff's rep, yet not sure anyone understands what that reputation is for, or how it came about, or even if he recognises he needs to make changes and moving to another club could be part of that.  As I recall we got garlett cheap because he had a bad rep, maybe we should throw him back.

For Jordan Lewis and Michael Hibberd - very little

For Jesse Hogan and Jack Viney - Hopefully a lot

A first rounder and a second rounder for Tom Rockliff? Has the world gone mad?

I'd be bitterly disappointed. Particularly given our recent drafting performance.

Put simply, I'd back a 'Jason Taylor' rnd 1 and rnd 2 combo ahead of a $700,000+ jar of fig jam.

Yes but they ain't helping us in the next 2-3 years realistically to win a flag. This last few days has really signalled some intent by the Dees.

History and Osilik will be Mahoney and Goodwin judge on if it works.

Here you go:

Notice the word "Seen" suggesting he's read it rather than heard it or been told it, fair chance he trolls Demonland.

Brett like this post?

Very funny man Red!

And so you just posted it on a fan site on the internet for the whole world to see with information that indicates exactly who your sources are with 2 minutes on google?  If this deal is real why would you post it now?  Why wouldn't you just calmly sit back and wait for it to happen?  Do you think it makes any difference if we know now or in 6 days?

Just FTR I don't believe you.  I'm not saying it won't happen but I don't believe this information.  I think you're making an educated guess and if it happens you'll be an internet hero and if it doesn't you'll come on here with a story of why it fell over.  Believe me if you've got previous form (and I don't know if you have) there is not one footy person who would speak to you if they knew you put their confidential information on an internet site.

So my conclusion is that you're either a loose cannon with confidential information and no respect for those that gave it to you or you're a troll seeking some sort of notoriety from a bunch of wackers (and I include myself) on an internet site.  Great options aren't they!:o

Hahahaha I don't care about you or your thoughts. Save your lecture for your kids

No what?

It's a tough balancing act, if you don't post sources you're highly likely to attract the wrath of posters unless you have points in the bank, but if you do then you're really putting your sources in hot water if it gets out that they said something, which is clearly a risk in this case.

good on Generation Dee for posting what he's heard with details, maybe not the source part of it though.

My thoughts are PM people if they really want to know source. I had some info on Trenners foot I was happy to post but bloody wary about source as it would have lost someone a job. Had some pm with doubters, all good.

Would hate to be GD source from Brissy on Monday.

Loved the rumour though.

the only risk is 1. if the rumour is correct and 2. the person spreading the rumour is actually connected in the way they say they are

No thanks.

FTR, I'm not asking too much specificity on Chook's sources. I trust his MFC sources as he's consistently delivered. But to say Brisbane know nothing about it suggests either he's trying to pour cold water on it from Melbourne's end or he knows someone at the Brisbane end.

Someone took a screenshot and tweeted the original post to him.

Not that I have a problem with journos on footy forums as long as they then follow up with proper sources which is what BA has stated he will do.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
