Clearances - 27 to 16

Cont Pos - 96 to 68

Tackles 50 to 37

1 kick so far that has actually been to a forward target.

But yeah, totally the forward line's fault that they are smashing us in the middle and have better skills going inside 50.

2.9 from set shots last week.

A lot of those stats you just posted are due to our forward line.

Hogan and Weeds worst on field on dream team points. Watts and Vdb make up 4 of the bottom 6.

Whoever is coaching this group needs a good look at themselves.

Right, so now you're quoting dream team points...

Says it all.

Interesting stat for the day.

Remember early this year when Hogan had a go back at Schwarz about his goal kicking percentage?

He said 'His accuracy was about 58 per cent or something and mine’s 69'

Well since then, this season Hogan has gone at 55% .... 40 goals 32 behinds.

What a way to finish his career. Well done to the pathetic gutless 22 losers out there today who have no idea how lucky they are to be representing this club and having Roos as a coach.

Amongst all the other stats it hands down shows our forward line is pathetic right now. DIsfunctional group who can't lay a tackle or kick a set shot if the game depended on it.

forward line coach needs to lift there game

Can't believe the negativity & pessimism ...I'm having my say now & then farewelling this forum to the same few who delight in trotting out the same pathetic platitudes every time this team doesn't live up to their lofty expectations...Gawn played as a lone ruckman all season ...cooked ...Viney..jones & vince carried the brunt of the midfield & are all again cooked & carrying various injuries ...the rest of our extremely young & talented team are quite simply ready for the off season ...thank you paul Roos for a season I thoroughly enjoyed ...I have hope & optimism & these last two games won't define my season or your tenure...I look forward to watching the progress of this exciting & talented young team under Goodwin & even though it will be difficult ...I will temper my expectations accordingly .....but how great is it that we can "now dare to dream "!!

So just to be clear. It's a game day thread. We're losing by 70 points with a quarter to go. And you're surprised by the emotion and negativity.

Okay then.

Mate, I agree that forward pressure in general is a problem of ours, but it's having very little, if any, impact on today's score.

Wow 23 inside 50s for just 3 goals. Our forward line is a joke. Who is our forward coach?

I think our forward coach is Goodwin... We are in real trouble

Funny , thought it was the players/coaches position to change the fabric of discussion.

I think reality checks required.

Whilst we have shown a hint of incremental improvement I can't for the life of me equate this season as successful.

We're just a different type of rabble today.

Putrid.

In some ways this season has been about laying more foundations and getting out of the ground , to use building parlance.

The team now not only dares to believe in itself it knows it can win, not as a one off, a fluke but because they dare to play a team game.

It's still very raw. It's still got a lot of refining and polishing to come but all in all the Dees, to borrow Kennedy , have stopped just thinking about winning by beating and and all comers they are doing it.

Dreams into Actions.

It is possible for today to be pathetic (it is) and the 2016 season to be successful (it has been).

This Basil is calling Garlett as Jessie Garlett. Will someone correct him please.

I know we're not really doing positives, but T Mac's second half of the year has been impressive.

His ability to sidestep/baulk an unsuspecting opponent always surprises me.

Has Bernie actually looked where his is kicking it at all this season? It looks like he just bombs it every single time to my mind.

This shouldn't be that disappointing, given the circumstances of both sides and what is on the line for each.

But it is. Prior to today we were able to say we had only lost one game by 50+ points and only two games by 40+ points, with no 10-goal losses. We'd also not played a single game where we were totally uncompetitive and our percentage has been over 100% for almost all year (if not literally every week of the year).

After today, we'll have that uncompetitive loss, our percentage will likely go below 100% (need to bring the margin down below 64 points) and we'll have that 60+ point loss.

I wish the players and FD cared about these things as much as I do.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
