He did make a couple bad errors today. But some were as Biff said because he was trying to make things happen. 

The eagles flood smothered our scoring options.

But dont worry it was the McDonald brothers fault we lost... not Berniea or anyone else 

Just frustrated probably. When you feel a game - that you should rightfully win - slipping through your hands, it gets pretty [censored] frustrating.

As much as I love the way he plays when he's having a good hard crack, i can acknowledge he's a bit of an arrogant tosspot, comes with the Footy show regular territory. Every team has one though I suppose.

Had a pretty ordinary year for a leader IMO. We need him to be a leader and he simply isn't.

Poor leadership and discipline today from Bernie.

If we had 20 blokes that get as much out of themselves as Bernie does we'd win the flag. He makes mistakes but he has a crack. He's playing a vital role for us until the next generation evolve.

Comprehension is obviously not a strong point of yours Ricky P. Vince's discipline has been horrendous all year. The reports, the stupid free kicks, the lack of leadership etc. No-one is saying he has been bad for the club. But as one the most experienced players he has to lead the way.

Thought he had much more hunger than last week. Did give away 5 frees, but 3 of them were nonsense

Could pull his head in just a little Bern. We need in your face aggressive play but not silly frees and reports.

I'm willing to forgive him for the slip. Just pumping it in wasn't working, we needed to do something different to score.

I think it's hard for any player to come to a club so deep into their career and expect to be a leader. Like Goddard at Essendon. We've tried basing our leadership group around new guys and it's never worked. I think his year's been good enough, but I think he's much more important for the team playing on the ball and being physical, like today or that role he did on Dangerfield, even if he gives away a few silly frees, rather than picking up cheap stats in defence (like last week and a fair bit of the year).

If he was playing the same role as he did on Dangerfield last year I wouldn't have a problem with it, but he's playing off half back and playing this faux tough guy rubbish and it kills the team.

The most successful team of the era and possibly ever specialise in "unsociable football". Before that Brisbane were perhaps the greatest team ever and guess what they played unsociable football but just didn't call it that.

Bernie Vince is leading the way. Before he came to the club we could barely win a game and it was hard to even watch a game. Only a Melbourne supporter could be happy with losses but the Adelaide and West Coast games show we are in it to win it.

Thank you Bernie Vince for playing a leading role in resurrecting a sinking ship.

 

I haven't seen all the game but from what I did see he made two stupid decisions after taking a mark. The first was he chose to kick in his left foot when there was no need at all and the ball was turned over, the other was playing on when he slipped over. He can't help the slipping but there was no need to play on, a kick over the mark was all we needed.

The way we can turn a "free kick" into a kick under pressure is mind boggling.

A more balanced post might be:

Is Bernie one of our best players?  Yes.

Does he give his all?  Yes.

Was yesterday one of his best games for us?  No.

Did he make quite a few mistakes?  Yes. 

I like Bernie, but I've rarely seen an experienced senior player make the mistakes he does.  And he does it every single week.
