Does Membery have an opponent?

Membrey must love playing against us.

Almost every time we've lost it, it's because we're taking too long to get rid of it.

They've worked us out, unfortunately, and they'll run over us from here.

Exactly this. They just know they can beat us, and it gives them the kind of confidence that will do for us every time. Game over.

Letting this slip badly

Bernie's miss very costly

What is wrong with Jesse?

Cant we ever man up????

Starting to look like the last time we played

Yep, very similar to last time.

All the bounces, knocks etc going there was right now.  We haven't been past half forward in a while.

Hogan being off with a sore back doesn't help either.

And there goes the lead.

once again, over use of the ball has cost us a lead.

We are sooooooooooo dumb.

Love a dollar for every time our defender STANDS waving instead of going the player. Grrrr

For those at the game, are we overusing the ball because there are no options forward of the ball?

A bit of both.  It has also been lack of space.  Saints have worked harder this quarter to tighten the contest and we instinctively look for a handball if not in the clear. It's an experience/decisive thing; were playing too strictly to the game plan instead of adapting.

In particular, they've gotten on to of the midfield contest this quarter.

Nate jones isn't using the ball well today.

Is he playing?

I thought that before the game started.

They are absolutely running rings around us now.

Us 39

Them 42

No, now they're just capitalising.

Nah, we were better in the first.  Nowhere near it in the second.

Montagna once again has no opponent. It's not like he hasn't killed us for the last 15 years.

This game is so friggin predictable

I feel like my ears are bleeding with the saints supporters next to me.

God they're bad. Screaming like they're actually a half decent club.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
