Dawi03, who runs Demonology has announced that he is giving up running the site come year end:

"Bad news is Ive decided I will be finishing up Demonology as there is too much work to do ie live feeds etc and general maintenance for no reward. So we will roll on till the end of the year.

Hope we can continue you win!!

Its a Grand Old Flag!! "

His reasons are the time and the financial demands that running the site require of him.  To quote:

"Cheers mate. More important things in life unfortunately. The Mrs cracks it every weekend when I am trying to stream then upload the win. And would rather spend time with the little one than worry about the site. I think the chat is moving a lot to Facebook anyway "

"The stream isn't time consuming. The running of the site is time consuming. And frankly I'm over it."

So at the end of the year it will be Demonland alone for all us tragics!

We all need to be aware of the time, energy and money that Andy and Nasher have put in and continue to do so.  They also have partners and families who rightfully demand their time.

They cannot do it all alone, and we should all be prepared to help out that little bit, when needed.  And as Andy has shown any excess funds are directed toward the club.

Let's keep making Demonland a win-win for everyone.

Will it shut down or perhaps someone else will take it over? I know a few other forums that are being    marginalised up by the accursed Facebook.

The idea of discussing football on Facebook is obscene.

I went to Ology when Land crashed for a few days. Before that the only time I paid attention to it was when Doctor Who tried to turn it into the MFC version of Pravda via stealth. Too cliquey for mine, too smug and self congratulatory and not enough lovable nuffies compared to land.

I often get asked how much it costs to run the site and it is not cheap.

You might have noticed that we are no longer crashing on match days during our peak activity and that is because we doubled the specs of our server.

The hosting cost approximately $170 a month and the message board software is approximately $500 a year.

All up that's about $2500 a year and that does not count the time that I, Nasher and Whispering put in to the running of the site not to mention the moderators who do a thankless task.

So if you would like to keep this site going and want to contribute see my post above for the options that suit you.

Needs a 'thank you' button.

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
