Knowing the equality of the competition they will get picked up by a top team like Haw & help them win maybe 5 flags in a row

For pick 25 as thats their first pick after winning another flag, academy picks and father son selections have pushed their 1st pick so far back that its more or less a second rounder.

I actually got the same injury as O'Meara and while I would say he is on a better track because of his far better fitness and conditioning base, I'll still testify that it is an absolutely shocking injury. Approximately 2.5 years on while I don't have any debilitating affects it is still very uncomfortable at times during and after activity.

Again I point out that he has many more advantages than me in conditioning and experts treating his progress, but it does not surprise me to hear he is struggling through soreness and issues with it. I like the idea of us looking into him but I honestly don't know how the knee will hold up long term, I think the structure of the knee will hold but I also think he will suffer knee soreness on a fairly regular basis.

Whatever he does I wish him the best of luck.

Pass on both. One wont be on the park terribly often in any useful or meaningful way, the other has out priced himself to our needs.

I suspect the Suns will go to the draft with at least 4 first round if not top 10 picks.

they currently have 4 and 9

should get a first rounder for both Prestia and O'meara unless Prestia comes to us

Not a bad place to start a re-build 4 top 10 picks at least

Not gonna happen, not even close.

So you think they're going to let two of their brightest young talents walk for less than first round picks? or they're going to lose the two existing top 10 picks they hold?

They'll definitely get one for Prestia ( unless he comes to us )

and even with O'meara's injury if he went to the Hawks for example i expect they'd want at least pick 18 but depending on who he goes to that pick might become even earlier

Agree with those saying we need to retain the talent we have worked so hard to get in the past 3 years and try not to lose the essentials (eg TMac & Jesse). I expect a quieter trade period this year, mainly because he haven't got the chips we had previously (oops, non intended pun). Our ins already will include Melksham and injury affected returnees Salem, JKH, Van der, Brayshaw etc,  as well as natural development from a heap of very talented <21yo's.

We are regularly the youngest team playing each week.  It's been a magnificent strategic plan and direction created by Roos and Jackson the development coaches. Buy what we can on the High Street that will help the team without breaking the bank but consolidation is the focus now rather than big names.

Yes, agree with real interest in mindset of the groups, in  last batch of rounds in both firsts and seconds. This will decide future draft picks.

My Swans supporting mate just texted me that he's watching a fox footy podcast and Omera has chosen Sydney as his club of choice.

What!? A mate told you about a podcast of a rumour?! Must be true...

I don't know why we'd touch O'Meara after the Clark debacle. Players who routinely get injuries are too risky for lowly clubs; easy to take a punt when you're already in the top 4 each year.

Go hard Stu, I was simply asking if anyone else saw it. Occasionally some journalists get things right.

I'm reasonably sure no one saw a podcast...

No they didn't, but they can podcast the audio from a previous visual, hence I said "did anyone else hear/see this". As in hear the audio or see the visual from an episode of fox footy during the week. Yes I also wrote "watched a podcast", big deal....I'm having a day off after working the last 19 straight and I'm tired.

Stil curious to know if anyone else heard this but not expecting the answer from you.

Is it that you don't believe your mate or can't find the podcast?

Either way, it's a rumour from a broadcast trying to get ratings.

For Presita's sake I really hope he hasnt signed with the tigers... they are absolute garbish.

I think any club would be irresponsible (from a list management perspective) to sign either of these players on the dollars they're seeking. They'd know as well as anyone the question mark over their bodies and their ability to reach potential; it strikes me as a manager playing, "which club is gullible enough to pay my client mega-dollars despite a notorious inability to get on the paddock?"

A bit like Tom Boyd being way out of his depth in AFL but sucking in the Dogs with that ludicrous contract offer. Not to mention how desperately the Dogs wanted revenge on the Giants for the Griffen poaching; Prestia's manager is playing the Tigers like a fiddle because he knows how desperately Richmond want that "big fish" after the Treloar embarrassment last year.

Of course, everyone else can see that selling the farm for Prestia, both in salary cap and draft picks, is one of the most short-sighted list management decisions a club could make in their position.

Prestia CAN'T have signed anything yet. Easy to walk away from a nod and a handshake.

Teloar wanted to go to the Pies so he kept sweet. There could be nothing valid signed before this season's last drinks that could be binding...could there !

Tbh with Prestia going under the knife again, it seems more likely he'll stay at GC.

GC wants to keep the nature of the injury silent so they get more for him.

Prestia wants to keep it silent so he gets more of he leaves.

Stay clear imo.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
