Cryptic Message on MFC Social Media - New MFC Logo

Featured Replies

Hawthorn supporters love wallowing in their pee&cackiness. Who can deny that Miranda Kerr would look great dressed in a potato sack? I'll wait and see before I like it.

I'm a cynic now.

Don't care.

Win games.

Any logo will do if you win games.

:)

Love the new logo. New era for the Dees and hopefully a better one. Very simple. We're the oldest club and Melbourne is our city and we're lucky enough to have the name. We should do everything in our power to brand our name and club around Melbourne and hopefully get more people on boared expecially people who are trying to pick a team and we're the first one they see. Very smart move and hopefully a step forward in more members

I love it.

Love the logo, love the clever gorilla marketing, love that we are doing something fun and modern and different

Absolutely brilliant!

Genuinely haven't been this excited about our club for a long time.

Great young list, good coaching structure, sensational CEO, making a profit, nailing our marketing and branding and winning more games!

how the colours look

we're getting smarter !!!

The new sweats/hoodies are going to fly off the shelf

putting my less than subtle hint in now for one for xmas now !!

just need to see that logo smacked across a few trams and trains now :)

They're way ahead of you....

The shade of red is also great too

Remember the days of the totally mismatched ight blue + piercing red.. it was like startng into the sun

Lol, very good.

Try being profoundly colorblind like myself and the twin.

Those light blue jumpers you are referring too, were brought about by the requirements of early color TV, but to me, when viewed in sunlight, its went all 3D, and it felt like my eyes were being sucked out of their sockets.

Unpleasant.

The new logo looks nice and simple, and i love the marketing. We have a great team behind the scenes at the club now.

Its just a very quick rough mock up and Im sure truly talented artists can come up with something far more today as an application of the logo etc

But this is the kind of iilk that has impact.

Fantastic to see the club going down this track

I am assuming we have training today then? Havent seen it mentioned anywhere

What do you guys think this means? New logo, perhaps?

Great to see Daisy with Jonsey on the promo. Our two captains!

Daisy is a great role model and someone to aspire to for the little 'aussie kick' girls ...might make them little Demons (and convert parents and siblings)

Today a foreigner or non-AFL follower gets off the train at Flinders street station, they view the logo and receive a free coffee. But who is this from... the city of Melbourne?

A HUGE improvement over the pre-existing logo and looks great to us MFC supporters, but it hasn't quite hit the mark as it needs a greater influence to suggest that it represents a sporting club.

You could be right 'ignition'

I'm thinking it might be a 'drip feed' promo campaign with more bits to come that will paint a bigger (mfc football & demons) picture.

It's pretty basic. There's not a lot happening with it, such as the old one. I'm the same as ADC on this.

I hated the old logo.

It's with profound relief that I view this one. Looks good.

Less is more when it comes to logos - something Schwab seemed not to understand.

I liked the current (or now old) one. Liked the recognition it displayed and it's meanings, as did many here who may have changed their previous views all of the sudden.

I disagree, ignition. Look at some of the most recognizable logos in sports:

etc....

Well done Melbourne

Tbh I didnt mind the 'complex' logo but really like the new one.

Im impressed with the cleverness of the 'stealth' roll out , the engaging of the town , the connect to the people.

Kudos.

A big FU to the AFL website though for spoiling the build up.

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
