Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I just read this, not hitting the kid at all, but that town warragul. As I stated, I don't know the kid, never met him, but I DO know the town & what its like, & what other people around Gippsland think of people of warragul, generally. and its not good.

.... its a very judgmental, narrow minded town, full of paranoid thoughts & people.

regarding McKay, I hope he isn't in that bracket as a person... but hard to escape it.

Sorry Deeluded but I cannot believe this!

Let me get this straight.. Are you saying that we shouldn't draft a kid because he live in Warragul?? and or environs??

Cmon give us and the kid a break!! Paleasse!!

Yes I agree with you rpfc.

Parish/ McKay Happy to do this, our next years first rounder used on the kid who made it into this years draft by a few days. Looks terrific, will be the foil and forward ruck.

Parish/Mathieson Would be a dream come true for these boys, like ANB and Stretcher, hard to pass up this synergy and will add to the rampant excitement already within the group.

Parish/Weideman While this is a great result and one I'd be happy with I prefer either of the previous combinations.

For some reason, Oliver reminds me of the playground brute who gets the ball , taunts little kids, plays keepings of , no one says Boo! and he just does what he pleases! Not even the teachers are game enough to pull him up!!

Pray to God we finally get someone that gives cheek, and plays with some Devil!

Sorry to say but is he a potential better mans Ollie Wines??

Hnmm Intrigueing to say the least!

Sheeit pick 3 and 7!!!! For Uncle Martin from Mars sake,

DONT STUFF IT UP DEES!??

Just been watching Mckay's and Weideman's highlights for a comparison - much prefer Harry's. Not having seen these guys live it's hard to judge well. however this kid is clean at ground level, seems to like more body contact and being in traffic than Weed (Weed seems on his own a he'll of a lot in his vids - won't get that grace in the big league). Will take the 2nd ruck spot once he gets in as well.

Looks a better frame to add bulk, yet bottom ager, scrapes in to this draft by a handful of days only - would probably go #1 next year if he was born a week later. May not be ready next year but gee a year of development and getting what should be next years best kid smells pretty good to me

Unless he doesn't fit the no DH rule - I want this kid at 7.

Highlights not really a great guide. Have only seen Weideman in a couple of Academy hit outs, but he's the stronger contested mark of the two. Leads well and also hits packs hard. Will also win his share of one v ones. Very courageous.

McKay is more of a lead up player, getting more of his touches between the arcs. Has won more of his one v ones due to height advantage rather than strength, which he still has to build as a virtual bottom ager. His twin, Ben is more of the pack crashing type and a bit more aggressive, but Harry doesn't shirk contests.

I'd say Weideman has stronger forward craft at this stage than McKay, but McKay is not only younger in age, but also in experience in elite level junior football environment.

Who would you pick ChaserJ.....all things, especially Weids injury status considered?

I'm not sure on the seriousness or otherwise of Weideman's medical report, but I'd consider that more important than his testing results. If the only concern is that the problem is acute rather than chronic, no issues. We don't need him to come in straight away, let him get it right and then build him up, the same way we did with Hogan.

On pure game styles, I'd pick Weideman, as he's shown (in a small sample) more forward nous, and I'm a big fan of how he attacks the ball in the air. Aggressive and courageous, would be nice to see he and Hogan pair up in the forward line.

McKay definitely caught the eye at the Championships, looking very good on the lead, and swinging onto his left and hitting targets further afield. However in the games I've seen, his leading patterns need a fair amount of work, and isn't as strong a contested mark as Weideman. Building his upper body should see him improve there, and it does look like he has a heap of improvement in him. For him to play like he has done with so little time in the elite pathway shows he has a high level of talent. I do wonder whether he develops into more of a ruck/fwd in time. His height and athleticism make me thing he could become an effective follower, and his best game post champs was when he started in the ruck.

I'd be happy enough with McKay in the end, but I'd have him behind Curnow and Weideman personally.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
