Jack Fitzpatrick

Guess what. The Hawks are interested in Jack Fitzpatrick according to Herald Sun. Could this be another Stef Martin? A tall, mobile big man. Good luck to Jack if it comes off. Never given enough opportunities at Melbourne.

Probably the only similarities.

I will back the Hawks footy savvy in against the Dees footy savvy in any day (recent history very much proves that) and has David Neitz still a forwards footy role at the Hawkers? Has to eventuate though and it may not.

How long can you keep an under-performing player on your list? You have to draw the line somewhere, and I think Fitzpatrick's six seasons provided him with more than enough time to earn a place, which he failed to do. Next.

I was a Fitzy hopeful for the past few years hoping once he got his body and health in alignment he would make the jump to AFl standard. He did show some cameoes along the way but the Casey VFL final against Sandy this season did it for me. He took a couple of great defensive marks in the first quarter but followed up with some shocking blunders in defence that you would only expect from under 15's. that was it for me. Some people haven't got it mentally, no matter their physical gifts, time to move on. Good luck to Fitzy and the Hawks but not much will come of it.

Named this week.

Always a soft spot for Fitz and especially happy to see him back after his concussion issues.

Wont be cheering Hawthorn but will be cheering the 'almost cult hero' Jack Fitzpatrick.

I wonder if the umpires will interpret his tunnel ball move favourably if he does it wearing yellow and brown?

Sad to hear Fitzy is retiring due to concussion issues.

I recall he was much maligned for his 'tunnel ball' but thought he more than compensated for that when he kicked the winning goal to get the Hawks into the final four last year.

Always did his best for the Dees.

Good luck Fitzy.
