Reading between the lines.

Interest in Howe from others (multiple) I think gone.

No interest in Watts

Active in chasing Freeman and Bugg

Very active in chasing everyone, but every club is

Toump all but gone, he wants out but club see potential and would keep him

Garland to be announced as staying in coming days.

I think you mean Kennedy.

Chris, just to clarify, do you mean Howe is gone or the interest in him from others has disappeared?

Lots of interest and Howe gone (although he did say he may still stay)

Yep, whoops.

Petracca- Will be right to go by round 1. The way the question was asked it was implied that he may not. However he said Christian will be ready.

Still hopeful on Prestia but the club has resigned themselves to leave it for this year.

Really glad to hear the club still has faith in Jimmy.

He may have a better chance of being a part of our developing midfield than try to break into an 'established' group at Port.

Dion Prestia- Have interest in him. makes it difficult as he is contracted. Probably sit on it the moment and wait till next year (uncontracted)

Dions family are Melbourne supporters

Second part of the interview

Josh on coaching:

Want the Roos/Goodwin transition to be seamless

Wants Goodwin to take more charge at training

No future role for Roos

Club is at where they expected, in regards to on field

Finals next year is the plan

Club is 'in the picture' more so in regards to trading players to the club

Players that they trade/recruit need to be 'competitors'

Petracca will be ready to go round one

Prestia: Fact that he is contracted means that it would be difficult to get him this year. However, the door is not closed. Family has been a part of coterie so there is a link to the club.

Bennell: Dees not interested. 'Put a line through his name'

Bennell not coming to the dees, has been ruled out.

I like Mahoney, seems a straight talker.

Thanks guys. Melksham Kennedy and Bugg don't fill me with confidence though. Looks like we are just going for fringe players from opposing teams and not being to aggresive this year

Chris did mean Kennedy, I didn't think Freeman was named... just checking.

Thrilled about Garland

Totally underwhelmed by the rest

A typical one-eyed supporters response.

'Thrilled' at the thought of keeping an underachieving and terribly inconsistent senior player and 'underwhelmed' at potentially picking up three players who will without doubt help the depth of the list and are upgrades on those who have been delisted, thus improving our side overall.

Really pushing the foresight boundaries there.

If Carlton get first rounders (as they are asking) for Henderson and Yarran, then some supporters here should raise their asking value for the likes of Howe and a couple of others.

its carltons arrogance, they always overvalue their own, & look down their nostrils at others until they wear navy blue.

its the same neurosis that caused them to get into their own culture quagmire. they've become inbred.

We're targeting A-graders too, but due to our list profile, i.e. talented youth, we have to be careful not to overpay. We're also not presently a destination club, although managers have more interest in talking to us than 2 years ago.

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning. Joy all round, they look like they want to be there.  21 in the squad. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
