Mahoney and co should just not even turn up tomorrow and leave a note on our trade desk that says "Out to lunch".

They read the new (trade) world better than all the other clubs in regards to the points system and absolutely cleaned up. Other clubs will be more savvy next year so such a coup won't happen again. Fantastic work MFC - couldn't have done it better.

Today should be a lesson for those who wanted to do the trades early and for those who continually wanted to play hard ball.

MFC and GWS clearly had a plan from the beginning of trade period to use the system to benefit both parties. They were prepared to do this because of a trust between the parties. This trust was also evident in the initial GCS trade.

Playing hard ball only puts people off side. MFC with Mahoney and Roos have built a reputation of being sensible to deal with and trustworthy. We have clearly worked on outcomes that are "win win" which is the key to all successful negotiations.

Well done MFC. Let's hope the posters who shot off at the mouth learn from this. I'm so sick of blokes coming out slagging decisions and then saying "I'm happy to eat humble pie" and then being stupid enough to make exactly the same mistake two minutes later.

On another note, I wonder if Prodee is still "underwhelmed".

We started the trade period with pick 6. If you said we'd finish the trade period with picks 3 and 7 and lose just one best 22 player - a C-grader - I wouldn't have believed you.

I hope that we are seriously looking at Jones and Terlich's contracts as it would be a shame to merely use picks 46 & 50 on rookie upgrades when there may be somebody that the FD finds more suited to our needs ( now that we have traded in some midfield depth)!

Looking at Carlton's trade period to date, I reckon we could package up both Terlich and MJones and pick 94, and we'd receive Patrick Cripps in return!

Very underwhelmed with Kennedy and Bugg.

Rapt with draft picks.

Obviously.

We are now seeing why Mahoney is the only person remaining from the previous administration.

I can see what he has done but I'm not sure how he has done it. Well done JM and team. I am excited about our team for next year. Go dees

Edit: The Mahoney first statement is wrong.

Trade action at least. I see something like:

2016 1st - 3

6 - 7

25 - Melksham

Toumpas - Kennedy

Howe - Bugg

Pretty good but I'd hold off the champagne

You might have missed a few picks in the OUT section. For example we got Pick 29 in the Kennedy deal and then on traded that to GC as part of today's deal.

But if you're merely looking at showing what we started with to what we have right now then I think you're pretty spot on.

Everything but Pick 46. We always had that, our 3rd round pick.

- Todd Viney - Manager Player Personnel

- Josh Mahoney - Manager Football Operations

- Kelly O’Donnell - Pro scouting

- Darren Farrugia - Recruiting Technology Coordinator

- David Misson - Elite Performance Manager

- Spike Harris - Team Manager

All there when Bailey was coach bar Misson who came with Neeld.

Edit: Forgot Pete Roberts. He was also there in Bailey's time.

I think a forum is supposed to have varying opinions. Thousands of fans... So I don't know how anyone can be 'sick of the mahoney bashing. There will always be differing opinions obviously...

We've also given up our 2016 first round pick, for accuracy's sake. Still a big win.

So if we upgrade VdB & Harmes, how many live picks does that leave us for the draft?

We prob only need 3 & 7. Tho' wasn't there a F/S possibility too?

Out 43 as well.

43 was Gold Coasts 3rd rounder we got in the 6 for 3 deal. Was pushed from 40 to 43 after the FA compo picks were given out.

I stand corrected. I just stupidly parroted what someone told me.

Jake Lovett who'll probably be available to us in the rookie draft.
