First scorps game for me for the year

Stocks looked thin

Toumpas not clean hands

Kent - good attack on ball but no tank

King limited ruck option too light but can kick

Jhk good crumbing and clean finish

WHITE IN BEST YET AGAIN ,FFS ROOSY GIVE THE BOY A GO NEXT WEEK??!

Hmm, no. He's nowhere near afl standard yet. The only reason he and Terlich got in the best is because the ball stayed down there for most of the match. Their disposal and decision making was ordinary.

No-one really put their hand up today which is not surprising given it was probably the weakest side we've fielded all year. No chop out for Jamar in the ruck, no fitzy down back, no Casey captain to marshal the defence and horrible conditions.

Jkh tackled well but had limited impact after the first quarter in what was a role spilt roughly 50-50 to my eye between midfield and forward.

Kent showed glimpses of that blistering speed and booming left leg, clearly his best game at vfl senor level but again like so many of his afl games he flashed in and out of the play for long periods.

King had a tough day, weather wasn't conducive to big markers, he continually found himself outnumbered in pack situations as Smith and Muir failed to draw their opponents away from the area ri give him a 1 on 1. Copped an almighty spray from Brendan Mccartney at the last huddle.

Jamar won plenty of hitouts but after a while the zebras players figured it it was easier to rove of him, we got smashed in all the stoppages in the middle. His impact around the ground was minimal, again conditions mean he gets some leeway.

Toumpas was fairly anonymous, fumbled and waited for the ball to bounce to him on several occasions, a day to forget.

Bail continually set up his teammates to be tackled or spoiled with his hospital posessions, probably had the toughest match up against Clint Jones.

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
