GAME DAY - Round 19

Featured Replies

This game feels like we’ve lost twice. The first time when we thought we were going to get belted by 100, and then the second time when we fell away during the 4th quarter. Melbourne players are certainly good at finding novel ways to crush our spirits.

Yeah well...

I think a loss today will really teach the boys that you can’t play with no intensity for the first thirty minutes of a game and expect to win.

Loved a lot about what we did after quarter time, but that first quarter was inexcusable.

Yep final margin is quarter time margin. Shocking first quarter and some terrible decision making/turnovers AGAIN is what has cost us.

Why do so many teams get all the flukey [censored] go their way when they play us. Is it a total lack of pressure?

First quarter killed us. It was pathetic. We consistently get ahead of ourselves after a win.

Every player this quarter should take a long hard look at themselves.

We stopped playing

[censored] disgraceful. We turn to water when the pressure is on, and what hurts most is that we do it against a team renowned for crumbling under pressure

Well done. Let's continue to lose to this pack of [censored] [censored].

Good to see dawes actually impact the score board

Well done max

Promising team effort after quarter time but we cannot beat NM until,we have cleaned out a few more players and we learn to start games switched on.

[censored] can't stand Nth. Such a [censored] ant side that we continuously make look good.

Really should be beating them comfortably. Brown, Thomas, Waite, Nahs and Co are not good footballers, yet we allow them to look a million dollars. [censored] frustrating

Dunn has been pretty shithouse since halfway through the 3rd.

He was pretty shithouse in the 1st and 2nd too.

Pity Jetta couldn't ride Nahas into the ground again like last year.

I hate losing to pretenders.

I can't really agree. The first quarter concerns me FAR more than the last. We battled in the last and then fell away that 5% after the game became beyond reach, which is semi understandable. But that first quarter was inexcusable.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
