Press Red for Ed

Are people serious when they are saying that Eddie is bias with his commentating and that he shouldn't be allowed to do Collingwood games?!
IT'S PRESS RED FOR ED, which means it's meant to be unashamedly supportive of the the pies, to give the viewer the feel (if they are pies fans) of watching the game with their mates etc.

Perks of being the biggest club in the league.

No problem with that, but do you think it should be forced on all people who want to watch the replay, especially those who don't support the Pies? All replays are listed as the Ed version.

Fox Footy are idiots.

I've enjoyed all of these in the past, not as much as today of course.

The point is it's a Collingwood broadcast, it's meant to be one eyed.

The Richmond version with KB was hilarious last year when they blew a 7 goal lead v a the Kangaroos.

Every team should get a go.

Yeah they shouldn't replay this version every time.

Their walkout at the end was gold, and seemed genuine and spontaneous. The one they did yesterday was clearly orchestrated.

I agree that other teams should get a run.

It was a Collingwood Eddie commentary session, of course it was totally biased. I'd love to see a Melb one when we win. It would be hilarious.

I ,for one, will be contacting Foxtel, The AFL, and the MFC tomorrow to complain. It is offensive that every replay of the game this week has this rubbish as commentary. Imagine if this was done to Collingwood on one of their wins

I couldn't watch the game yesterday and am currently being forced to watch it without any choice about Red Eddie and the other clowns. I've phoned Foxtel (no complaints allowed on weekends apparently) and tried to complain electronically but they don't allow complainants enough words to say anything coherent. I'll have to wait till tomorrow but I'm furious. There's some sh*t you get used to living in the country, but this is one dunny too many for me.

Press Red for Ed is self-indulgent and undisciplined. Looked at another way, it's childish. Shouldn't those people be above that? What happened to the idea that the commentary should be straight and objective. If I was a Foxtel subscriber I'd go off my nut thinking that my subs were paying for Eddie's gang's tripe.

Having said that I turn off the commentary on TV for any game that I watch. And listen to the radio if there's no other option.

Did Ed go red is the real question. I love it when he gets frustrated / angry and his head turns into a beetroot. I half expect him to explode one day when it is suggested that Collingwood might not be the greatest team in the history of world sport.

Was considering starting a new thread for this, but it might as well go here:

If we had a "press red for dees" match on Foxtel, who would we as supporters want the commentary team to be?

So far I've only come up with... Garry Lyon, David Schwarz... Dr. Turf? Gets a bit thin about there.

You'd need some comedy in there, so maybe Hamish Blake or Ryan Shelton?

Rob Sitch probably wouldn't stoop to it.

It would be great to have a Max Gawn on the field and another in the commentary box.

Listening to this is farkin hilarious.

Nearly every call is high from a Melb player or holding the ball against a Melb player etc

It's very entertaining but only cause we won.

Would be unbearable if we lost to listen to these bozos.

There might be some contractual issues, especially with Lyon.

Ox definitely if you could get him. First picked.

I'd love to have Mike Sheahan in there. To actually hear what he's like when barracking would be priceless.

After sustaining a torn ACL in the final match of the 2023 season Jake added a bit to the attack late in the 2024 season upon his return. He has re-signed on to the Demons for 1 more season in 2025. Date of Birth: 12 August 1991 Height: 186cm Games MFC 2024: 8 Career Total: 229 Goals MFC 2024: 8 Career Total: 188

2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. The move of “Disco” to a key forward post looks like bearing fruit. Turner has good hands, moves well and appears to be learning the forward craft well. Will be an interesting watch in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #13 Clayton Oliver

Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. He carried injury right through the back half of the season and was controversially involved in a potential move during the trade period that was ultimately shut down by the club. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

Melbourne’s most important player who dominated the first half of the season until his untimely injury in the Kings Birthday clash put an end to his season. At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury.
