GAMEDAY - Round 17

Featured Replies

Hardly a time for positives, but Grimes has been good.

Some of Dawes touches in that quarter were completely laughable. Tyson dinky clanger inside 50 was so lazy and careless it wasn't funny.

Vandenberg is having a shocker. Why the fark is Michie on the pine?

"We're so sorry we made you the sub."

We are slow make shocking decisions and have extremely poor footskills!

A Rabble!!

grimes just panics every time he gets it ,showes lack of confidence

Good golly we are a pathetic football club..

Garland played way too loose on Reiwoldt and showed no respect whats so ever!

Pathetic

For our army of coaches we have no skills and many stupid players. Rabble

Be nice if we could actually make a 2-3 disposal run without choking or turning it over.

I know, its a lot to ask.

big fan of watts but good grief today is unreallly bad

Momentum can change quickly - hope we can do it. we are now $4 TO WIN

Been saying ever since we recruited him.. Chris Dawes is plain and simply a spud! How he manages to get a get is pathetic.

ONE GOAL IN THE OPENING QUARTER Vs ST KILDA IN A GAME WHERE WE SHOULD HAVE COME OUT BREATHING FIRE

NO RESPECT FOR THE SUPPORTERS AT ALL

And one from which we have never recovered!

Loyalty, shredded

Friendships, lost

Credibility, questioned

Unification, compromised

Mental anguish, exacerbated ( still felt today)

Success since, found wanting

Final word, ??

" A BLOODY DISGRACE"

its NOT the sacking we haven't recovered from.

its the takover thats been sucking our essence from us, ever since. the essence of 'checker' ; the red blooded fight like hell spirit, has been sucked dry

Well done Howe.

Jones twice ran in the way of the player with the ball trying to get a cheap possession!

I thought he had got that stupidity out of his game.

Jetta playing like a champ. Our midfield is insipid

Brayshaw is the only one out there with any friggin idea.

God that is sad.

Vandenberg having a shocker

St Kilda are clearly a better foot-skilled team. We seem a rabble again. I think I'll mow the lawns...

How stagnant do we look going forward. A bunch of statues and it's the 2nd [censored] quarter.

Howe is a dumb footballer

Had absolutely no interest playing back, yet they continue playing him there.

Grimes has been decent.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
