Would have to be the worst case scenario for the AFL. Even worse than Franklin choosing Sydney over their precious GWS.

Agree, I think it's highly likely. If Hawks offer to the Cats he'd have to consider it.

Prolonged periods at the bottom of the ladder will soon be a death knell for smaller clubs, as the new generation of kids take centre stage. Their attention span is split between 5 things at once, and it's part of the reason the AFL desperately manipulate the competition to keep Sydney in contention. The moment they have a sustained period at the bottom is the moment everyone in Sydney stops giving a [censored] about AFL.

By manipulate do you mean dubious tribunal decisions?

The new generation in a time of an increasingly homogenised culture are desperate to carve out a niche as a point of identity difference and this is how we should market the club as fashionable: Melbourne Demons - Be Original.

We'd be here all night if I had to list what the AFL manipulate to ensure Sydney stay successful. Every aspect of the game is tainted to protect them.

Hard not to wonder what's happening in that alternate universe where the Melbourne Hawks exist. Probably right behind the Tasmanian Devils on the ladder.

Taking a leaf from Terminator Genysis and disregarding any regard for teleological consistency, who of our current team would fit into a Dawks line-up?

Obviously Nathan Jones would be the T-5000, the living embodiment of Skynet. His mission is to corrupt the leader of the future Melbourne premiership team, Angus Brayshaw, into a T-3000. He then corrupts an entire team of VFL-spec players into believing they are capable of being AFL-spec and winning more than 4 games in one season.

Of course this doesn't factor in the time-travelling subplot where Simon Goodwin returns to 2011 and makes copies of Essendon's drugs program spreadsheets, before Vlad can tip them off.

Just watching the Port and Crows game. Why the hell are they not using a yellow footy?

I wonder how St Kilda being spanked today will influence the game next week. The Saints rarely play at the 'G either.

Never rule out the Saints. They're only down by 15 points now with 6 minutes left... they can win.

Yes indeed good comeback.....(only the Tigers could throw away an 8 goal lead to lose)

Browny's right. Sinclair missing that goal a few minutes ago was basically the tank going empty. They goal there and I reckon they go on to win.

And that brings us to the end of another round....now for the Ashes!

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

We'll break down the Match SIM against North Melbourne and wrap up the preseason with insights into training and our latest recruits. Thankfully, the offseason has recharged me, and I’m back—ready t
