Who stood out Samael?

To be honest I really struggled to see half the game when on the other side because of the rain light and I am an old F@rt with crap eyesight. Thought Jamar and Spencer, Michie, Hunt and Reilly were good. No 10 and 11 were handy as well. Mitch White did a couple of good things, did not notice King. Fitz was good down back and Terlich was pretty solid .The record did not have some players listed but I think Toump was 51 not much influence. Michie was off for most of the last qtr on the bench with an ankle in ice. Just a precaution I think. Don't think you can take much away from the game as it was just horrendous conditions. Basically a rolling maul most of the time.

The bacon rolls were very good but the coffee is bleeding awful. Lovely lady serving it though.

How'd Fitz play?

Reckon he is a chance this week.

Did you make lewd and suggestive comments to her Sam?

I am an old codger, she would have a further 10 years on me. No point in being suggestive because by the game's end it was almost past our bedtime and she had cleaning to do. Just having a red or two whilst I watch the Lions and Swans.

Fair comment Sam but if you can get her details pass them on to daisycutter - he has no scruples - the older the better.

Enjoy the red - I'm slurping one also.

Then there's North Melbourne in the '98 GF

Then there's Geelong in the '08 Grand Final

That aside, I think it's a massive effort from the Casey side to do that to Port, especially in such shocking conditions. I'm thrilled that Hunt is starting to show some return on the work he's been puttin gin after all those injury issue too. He has some massive attacking weapons if he can make it to AFL level.

Not sure that Geelong example is the best one, RM. A lot of those were rushed by Hawthorn, which led to a change in the rushed behind rule the following year. But poor kicking at goal is certainly not localised to the MFC yesterday.

You maybe going too early on Toump OD. He has shown enough to suggest there is a footballer in there. Producing it consistently is the issue.

Give him another season and we can be definitive.

Did not make the best players list at casey today Bbo.

Early last year I went to the Casey vs Bombers game at windy hill.

It was the most enjoyable game I went to last year.

Casey got up in the last few minutes to win.

Seldom see that happen at the G.

OD, you're becoming a bit picket fence-like with your Toumpas posts.

You don't rate him. We get it.

Toump hit some bad form and went back to the twos until he gets it back. Hardly an isolated situation for third year players.

No doubt he'll be in the seniors before the end of the year.

Premature evaluation?

Didn't Toump also have 11 or so tackles today? He's clearly being given instructions on developing all parts of his game.

You guys listening in to a crappy radio broadcast are seriously dedicated. Kudos.

Will Jayden Hunt get another year on the list, I wonder? He knows where the goals are.

He could always be delisted and rookied a la Neville Jetta... we will probbaly have two or three rookie spots open with elevations of Vanders and maybe King and Harmes

Greta to hear Hunt getting involved after a horror run with injuries.

If his body holds up, and develops, sounds as if he could be something useful, at least. A mid / forward with genuine pace.

I had him pegged for a rookie demontion, but maybe we will see him play a senior game in Round 23 this year if he keeps his work rate up. He is a tall mid at 187 (taller than Tyson, Petracca) but still light. His speed is missing in the demon side and we will be looking for pace in the draft and trade season so think he might have another year on the list at least. A good comparrison (althuogh he is not as skilled) H. Bennell is 185cm and 74kg and Hunt is 187cm and 76kg and Harley was doing really well at his size.

Well, if he can play football half as well as Harley Bennell we could be on a winner, and hopefully he has enough mentors here to keep him on the right path.

Or even some parts of his game.

If the instructions for today were "work on your tackling", then no point castigating him for "not being in the bests" if other aspects of his game take a back seat.

Sometimes it seems that we want players to go back to Casey to work on their weaknesses, but when they do ...

what about the first Grand Final in 1948!!! Ess kicked 7.27 to our 10.9 for a draw!

Then we killed them by 39 in the replay.

They got us back yesterday!

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best.
