Rumor on Bomberblitz that we are into Hamish Hartlett.

Harlett to Dees

Dixon to Port

However and 2nd rounder to Suns.

We are offering big money to entice him.

Your mistake was believing those Dkheads.

Like a week ago; on radio, Todd Viney was suggesting that Port should trade Harlett.

Your mistake was believing those Dkheads.

Actually, my first mistake was thinking 'I wonder what those idiots on Bomberblitz are thinking they will get for that Spud Melksham?'

The word is that our a grade targets are from Sydney and the Suns.

Any inkling as to who the target(s) at Sydney might be? JPK again?

Cam Ellis-yolman out of contract was killing it earlier on. Maybe our second round is to early mid to late second maybe.

But first we must get hb. He is a must.

I like the sound of butcher as a delisted free agent.

A friend of mine who knows him personally said that there has been an inquiry about Josh Walker from our club, and Josh would be more than open to coming to us, however he feels that if anything was to happen that he would be involved in a trade that would get Henderson to the Cats.
Wants far more opportunities than he is being given and probably deserves it and is open to being traded.
I for one have always rated him, cracks hard into packs and has great hands (unlike Dawes) and I feel that him and Hogan could really grow together (he is only 22).

Take it as you will, probably another just another bit of waffle in the silly season but that's what i have been told.

Didn't Barrett report that there was interest in Walker which may form part of Henderson deal?

Walker would be a handy fwd/ruck foil for Hogan

We chased Lynch for a while and obviously were left red-faced less than a week ago.

I imagine we scrambled pretty quickly to find a suitable alternative.

So... Hamish Harltett. I wouldn't say no, but surely we need a bit more leg speed. I guess it'd depend on what we'd give up for him. What do the rest of you think?

Where is this Hamish Hartlett talk coming from exactly?

A rumor on Bomberblitz was stated before.

Where there is a bit of truth I suspect is that we are trying to get another quality midfielder and a tall forward.

Can't blame the club for trying and shows we are proactive.

It was suggested by someone here a week back. Clearly the journos know where to source a reliable source

Is it true that gws gave tweeted that McCarthy is staying (proving once again that Barrett is...)

I wouldn't jump too early just yet.

Freo's Tom Sheridan responded to the Toby Greene's post saying they have an unreal Mad Monday over in Freo, but he deleted it pretty quickly.

Anyway, that's enough of that rubbish for me this evening. I love rumours, but I hate gossip. Time for bed.

That must be a joke right?

Interesting situation...

On the basis of those photos, it think he'd be more likely to request a trade to some hick football team in Arkansas ...

Clearly my mind has moved early into the silly season. It took me so long to work out who 'hb' might be that I'd thought of a pencil before I finally realised you meant Harley Bennell...didn't you?

Man, I love silly season.

I can see the value in Hartlett, played a lot across half back this year and is a pretty good kick. Responsible for quite a few of Port's attacking forays.

Salem and Hartlett at HBF... sounds alright to me.

Butcher would be dirt cheap, if not free. Big bodied, key position forward who regularly takes contested mark and is good in the lead. Yes, he kicks like a mule- but with all those other attributes, I think the kicking can be worked on; never to be perfected, but perhaps improved.

IMHO.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

  • POSTGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
