Isn't there conjecture regarding Essendon players not getting any suspensions.

If this is so we could do worse than a couple of their on ballers but I don't know who.

Yarran - NO. Don't need another lazy front runner

He won't be coming to us, but in fantasy land he'd actually fill a really important role for us off half back. Tomlinson would be great and I hope Dom and Frosty are getting in the ears of some of these homesick GWS kids.

would love it if we could come in late and land a player such as treloar.

unlikely.

the only real stories around melbourne are that we are chasing lynch, likely to lose howe, and have enquired about every decent midfielder in the comp as well as a couple of fringe gws talls.

Isn't that a good thing?

No longer leaking like a sieve to anyone who will listen.

Yep, I'm looking forward to being pleasantly surprised again this trade period.

Not looking great is it?

In terms of later picks, very bullish on Kurt Mutimer. Have had a little to do with him and significant upside imo. Central to Vic Country down back but received very little media attention. Good kick.

I think, wada asada & our admins have finally got their man, the one they really wanted, & Now after much ado about nothing but cheating, I think they're players will walk like Scott f Byrd.

so I agree with you wilmoy

Outs(9). Howe-Giants(trade 1) Toumpas-Crows (trade 2) Garland (FA) bail m.jones mckenzie terlich fitz riley

Promoted. Harmes VDNberg

Ins. Tomlinson - Giants(trade 1) Tom Lynch - Crows(trade 2) Tom Bugg DFA. Thats the CHF, Half fwd and tough onball tagger.

draft picks 5 (Harley Balic), 25 (Ryan Clarke),26 (Jake Gresham), 45 (Kurt Mutimer). Thats a skilled ruck rover, x factor midfielder, high possession rover and skilled running half back.

What I really like about this is that it's a very young list. We'd only have to replace about 5 players over the next five 3 to 4 years. Plus, we'd need to fill those 5 question marks. Two more draft/trade/FA periods should get us the majority of those players and after that, it'll just be a case of ensuring we have good deoth and any non performers are shown the door. Gold Coast's McKenzie, Bennell and Prestia would be a good start with three of those question marks. ;)

Very strong team!! Gives hope for the future. Moves beyond the inconsistent and questionable efforts of Dawes, Howe, Toumpas. And places great faith in the future built on Viney, Salem, Hogan, Brayshaw, Petracca, Watts. I'm going to keep any eye out for the first time this 17 group of players take to the field together, and no doubt will be pleased with the scoreboard result at the final siren. There is some serious talent on our list, and serious reason to be excited for 2016 and beyond!!

I'd be thinking that Frost might be that full back you are looking for. Possibly Weiderman as that full forward but no idea where the rest will come from. It's exciting though.

Im expecting big things from Frost. He's also agile not a plodder.

I supposed based on the short term what I think is a realistic gap filling effort for next year i'd go with

Lynden Dunn Sam Frost Nev Jetta

Christian Salem Tom Mcdonald Harry Lumumba

David Mckay Jack Viney Angus Brayshaw

Christian Petracca Tom Lynch Jack Watts

Jeff Garlett Jesse Hogan Dean Kent

Max Gawn Nathan Jones Bernie Vince

Aaron Vandenberg Dom Tyson Alex Neil-Bullen

I'm not sure about McKay?

But, if these guys are fit and firing at the same time.

I feel pretty good about next year.

Give us 1 a grade mid to boot, I'll feel even better

Lachie Plowman played a pretty good game today, having started on the bench: 20 poss (3 kicks, 17 HB) of which 6 uncont. at 85% efficiency and 3 tackles.

Not bad for 1st game this year at AFL level.

We get to have a closer look at him when he plays against us next week.

Plowman can play, a little hard to judge his trade value though for mine

Here is how our best 22 could look for 2016...

Jetta Frost Dunn

Lamumba T.Mc Salim

Michie Viney Vince

Kent *TOMLINSON Petracca

Gartlett Hogan *LYNCH

Gawn Brayshaw N.Jones

Tyson ANB Stretch Watts

Depth. Utilities. Cross Grimes Newton *Bugg JKH VDNBERGER Harmes Trengove (hopeful)Hunt

Depth. Key position. Dawes Pedersen O.Mcd

Rookies White King +2 ...*Callum Moore,*Jake Lovett

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
