Rode passed the 'G tonight and happened to snap this pic. Thought it would be nice for all 'Landers to enjoy the moment in a week that's been good for football (i.e. when the Dees win). Hope the trimmed down resolution still looks OK.

Giles. Looking at your avatar I am sure I have seen you working as a hipster, barista in a cafe down in Abbotsford. Is that why you were riding passed the Gee? Amazing how hairstyles and facial hair from the 80's has reappeared.

Gilles do you have one of those hipster bikes? You know plenty of chrome, no gears, no bracks, no gears, no accessories just minimalism two wheels and a frame.

Red and Blue are also the MCC's colours (with some white)

When I started following the Dees they were officially the "Melbourne Cricket Club Football Club" (one of the MCC sporting sections along with lawn bowls, lacrosse, etc)!

They still are!

Are again, in a limited way. The MFC used to be part of the MCC, and was run as part of the MCC. This stopped in 1980 when the MFC and MCC split and the MFC become a public company limited by guarantee. The two re-joined in a limited way in 2009. The MFC is now back being a 'sporting section' of the MCC but we are still a public company run independently of the MCC. Essentially we have gained the rights of being a sporting section of the MCC without loosing our independence. Kind of like the best of both worlds.

Now all the MCC need to do is provide us with a training base in Yarra Park and we will be fully back where we belong!
