I don't even know why Hogan needs to go and visit his family in Perth, he has all the family he needs here at Demonland.

I have already accepted that Hogan is likely to go. Weidemann and Hulett are very promising young forwards and no doubt the Club are preparing for Hogan's departure. We will get some good draft picks from Freo. How many premierships have the Hawks won since Buddy left? The structure of the forward line is what matters and in Watts, Kent, Garlett, Petracca and Weidemann to come, I am confident the loss of Hogan will not be too great and there will be more money to share around our top quality players.

Also, Lachie Reid who interviewed is a passionate Dee's fan who I've had the pleasure of chatting to a couple of times at functions. Apparently Hogan was sitting in cattle class (a sure sign MFC know he's going) but Lachie pulled some strings (ch10 budget strings I'd say) and managed to get Hoges upgraded to Business class.

Oh, almost forgot... He also donated some bone to Nat Fyfes leg injury.

Having Hogan or not having him could easy be the difference between making a prelim and winning the flag

As good as Clarry, Viney, Tyson, Tracc and Brayshaw look like being in the middle, Jesse is something else, he cannot be compensated for, and it has been way too long since we have had one like him. Lose any of those midfielders and we can move on easily, its not the case for Jesse. Gawn is almost as important BTW.

like I said the other day, he's not even in good form at the mo, and the other day he bagged 7 goals in his 26th game, in a losing side and he did it easily. He will be unstoppable in 3 years time

with all the carp we've put up with already, this one will sting

I firmly believe he is gone. A massive loss but no point worrying about it.

his father is ill and has been poorly for some time. Money can't compete with that. It was clear in his presser a month ago that the questioning on this topic made him uncomfortable. Only the people refusing to accept it couldnt see the way he mumbled those answers.

there is no advantage to him delaying the contract. The CBA excuse is baloney.

theres no way Melbourne havent offered massive coin and a long term so what else is there to discuss that is so far poles apart that it had to be postponed. 

Further to that, if MFC have offered everything they can and Jesse still postponed , we'll connect the dots guys. You would delay talks for a year over contractual technicalities.

I think the club also know he's gone but it was agreed by all parties to not announce it until the end of year. It's not in the clubs or jesses interests to play the year with that info public.

the line "delay till after season" has been used to get us to trade week where a deal will be done without the media drama of a season out committing to leave the MFC.

tjeres no way MFC haven't at this stage put their best offer forward. 

Thats the point that the "he's staying" camp conveniently gloss over

just a point of order  - don't all players fly around the country to play football anyway - it doesn't interfere with preparation  - clubs take flying it into account when mapping out their preparations. Him going to Perth probaly has nothing to do with the eventual decision. A distraction from the real considerations.

He is gone. This has Scully written all over it. Listening to Vince tonight on 'AFL Tonight' from what he said or rather did not say, I sensed Hogan is leaving.

The one thing I learned from the Scully debacle is I have plenty of time to get anxious/depressed/distraught if the worse case eventuates and he leaves.

As I know nothing and as know one else knows little more, until there is something concrete I will assume he is staying and enjoy the ride.

If he is off home what would we get for him? MFC don't have the option to shop him to the highest bidder, they have to deal with his potential request to go home to Freo with the only other bidder being WC maybe. What does Freo think they need to pay for him, their first rounder maybe or maybe not? We will get something just not sure it will be equitable. 

At the end of the season I would demand an answer from Hogan, if we get the same rubbish response about needing to just concentrate on his footy, just start negotiations with Freo while they have a low pick and get this sideshow over and done with. We have some young talent at the club now and we need players fully committed to the cause, not young forwards holding the club to ransom. 

Will be a 1 club player.  The hysteria is ludicrous.
