All the KPP like brown, Brereton, Dunstall, Carey all say it should be Hogan, but if you look in the HS toady it was 9/8 Cripps way.

Probably count Richo as a def Hogan camp, pretty sure he has said he deserves it or something similar.

Hogan is amazing, but it's plain bias to say that Cripps is a dime a dozen.

His numbers are better than Judd & Ablett in their respective seasons. We would be singing his praises if he played for us.

The only reason why I think Hogan should win is because of the difficulty of his role.

Being a young KPF in a poor team is much much harder than being a young midfielder in a struggling team. Carlton are terrible, but they still have Murphy and Simpson who would get harder tags each week. Hogan has played on all the premium defenders in the competition, and has managed to kick a goal on every one of them, save for the Carlton game.

Regardless of who wins, both will go on to be excellent A grade players.

If Cripps wins then Jesse will be very angry.

Could be good for next year. Chip on his shoulder type thing. Not that he really needs it.

Cripps is quite clearly better than "dime a dozen" and would be a very worthy winner.

If Hogan doesn't win it then you'd have to ask when if ever a KPF will win the award, but Cripps has still had an outstanding year and will go on to become an elite midfielder for Carlton to build around.

Judd was played more as a forward in his first 20 games, not as an inside mid like Cripps.

That said, Cripps is deserving and if he wins so be it.

I think Cripps will win it unfortunately. He has been fantastic this year and the games and numbers that he's producing are huge.

With that said, I think Hogan is and will continue to be the better of the two into the future and, if I was starting a team tomorrow, Hogan would be first picked.

Being the key position forward player in a struggling side in your first year and kicking goals against the number 1 defender that goes to you and usually gets double teamed and with limited inside fifty entries? Or being a midfielder who you hardly have someone tagging you and always being around the ball at stoppages / play?

Ok, I forgot about him. I'd be interested to see the amount of inside 50's the Eagles got that year compared to Melbourne this year. Plus he had Kennedy to take the number one defender. I think that's what makes Hogan so special, he has taken the number one defender all season and beat a lot of them.

Injuries aside, Hogan should easily be able to kick 53+ next season, especially if our midfield stops with the terrible disposal!

Put a sneaky $20 on hogan when it was at 2.90. Feeling pretty confident.

Good point about the inside 50's, but Kennedy only played 9 games that year due to injuries and Darling regularly to the opposition's best.
