This is very bad for football. Very bad.

Bad for Collingwood, bad for these boys. Bad for the sport? Reckon that's overplayed. AFL supporters are rusted on, the game won't suffer.

The game will suffer. AFL is bigger than their current supporter base. What about all those kids weighing up a decision whether to play AFL or Soccer?

This is a disaster for the AFL. The AFL are fast becoming the laughing stock of Australian sport.

Whole team suspension?

We all know that rule will never get enforced. Such is the nature of the AFL beast.

Can't wait to listen to Eddie on Triple M tomorrow though.

Article hints that the drugs are recreational, therefore no team penalty.

(OOPS! misread the article. Very bad - but still doubt that there can be a team penalty.)

anyone got a gif of gil banging his head repeatedly on a desk?

He is safe DA

There is not much in there to damage.

Again I don't buy that. The kids who choose to play AFL aren't paying attention to fringe players on drugs, and frankly, neither are the mothers.

Soccer isn't ingrained in the school systems like footy, its a competitor but not at the expense of AFL.

And to say a laughing stock:

Leaguies are constantly getting in trouble with the Law/p!ssing in their mouths/taking drugs/glassing women etc and Union can't even get 15k people in their heartland.

Coke-ingwood? We going with that? Doesn't exactly role off the tounge that one. Lol what a competition we follow

A performance enhancing drug - but a recreational drug. The obvious would be Ice.

With the knowledge of what that drug does to people, I just can't understand the appeal. Would these same blokes take Heroin?

Idiots.

I should read the article, sorry too excited.

Collbueterol is the best I can come up with on such short notice

Posted

I reckon with all this going on, Mahoney/Roos/Misson will be making sure the players tell them if they take as much as a Panadol

Which bit of "you will be tested on a regular basis" aren't some of these players getting

It never ceases to amaze me what people will ingest.

I am no longer surprised

Ok, just a quick read online. It appears to be a drug that helps sculpt that body.

More commonly known to be used in horses - as an air dilator (relaxing the muscles and allowing the horse to take in more air on each breath).

It is performance enhancing in horses because more air relates to stride length, recovery, endurance, speed.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
