More interest is the departure of. Brad Green!

The bombers are playing around with macca, just like they did with mark Williams when they hired James, the chemist has the job it's all a smoke screen, they want it to look like they are doing a thorough job.

Both the Dees and EFC had horrendous seasons during his 4 years as a Mentor/Director.

Not saying he was at fault but it is clear he wasn't able to affect the performance of the coaching groups.

Not sure how or why Carlton expect a different result.

Good luck to them...may they spend many more years anchored at the bottom end of the ladder.

It may be karma's way of punishing them for 'not tanking' and not 'bringing the game into disrepute'.

On topic...can't wait for Worsfold to be appointed so we are certain to have Macca for at least another year.

Not appropriate for wise heads at MFC to clarify if possible? Somebody with more info....

my thoughts exactly

If the EFC were smart they wouldn't go near Worsfold. The perception of the football community to the tainted flag which has been raised again by Daniel Chick is something they can't afford.

However, they have been shown to be not to smart.

If we are smart, we will be working on plan B just in case the EFC wake up to themselves.

Reminds me of the Neeld appointment at Melbourne, with the same Elder Statesman and a rag-tag of inexperienced apprentices. Hope there's a similar result as what we endured.

Neeld took over a club that had virtually no AFL standard players, a hapless board that offered no support and whom all resigned one way or the other, a poor administration and senior football department officials, and an ever dwindling support base.

By the way Macca should be pretty smart too...

If the EFC were smart they wouldn't go near Worsfold.

now just think that bit over a few times

Brendan Bolton is the antithesis of Neeld.

I don't think he will fail quite as hard, I don't think Carlton is ready for a Bolton-type of coach though.

His enthusiasm will struggle to cut through the arrogance and hubris.

It's a delicious thought none the less. One to savour....the continuing calamitous convulsion that is Carlton ^_^

You must be a journo 'bb'...nicely edited.

I wonder if todays HS article may change the Worsfold outlook at the Bombers?

I would doubt it personally . The footyworld knows !!

Neil Craig was a good coach at the crows, he is not the reason for neelds failure, a mentor can only do so much, thee coach still is the one in charge, neeld came from the school of malthouse, all his assistances have failed, all of clarko assistances are going well, some coach make good future coachs and some make cap ones.

I would doubt it personally . The footyworld knows !!

would have to make them have a second think

especially if afl integrity inquiry drags on and woosha's name gets thrown about as chick said management were involve/to blame

of course afl will stage manage it and essendon likely to be too arrogant anyway

personally i think it would be a very "good" marriage for all concerned

I wonder if todays HS article may change the Worsfold outlook at the Bombers?

Marriage made in heaven. New sponsor The Chemists Hoarehouse.

Looks like Woosha is set to become Essendruga coach mean Mcartney stays.

he says, she says !!

yea nah!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
