It's pretty pathetic that a handful of idiots who are so bored they need to argue and belittle posters who deliver great and valuable information, have to ruin it for the rest of us.

Much like BRFE I rarely post in the off season and the only thing I come to read are the training reports, which always turn into a shitfight because a select few need to give us their unwarranted opinion.

These posters should be banned from responding to training reports, rather than the majority of us getting to miss out on great insight.

Pretty serious when Jaded comes out of off season break!

To give reasons why, it is not the personal insults, that's just like the schoolyard where the kid wants to big note himself, they end up falling over in the end

I am just getting bored with a small minority sniping at everything and everybody, some think they are being funny, they're not,

I am guilty myself sometimes of retaliating, but so are others who just get sick of the same minority, you can only turn the other cheek so many times

I am nearly over Demonland

The AGM thread turned into a tanking debate, that was over ages ago, the AGM was a positive experience for most, but can it just be like that, hell no let's start raking up history again

We have a thread about Colin Sylvia, who gives a flying, he ceased to be a player two years ago, let's dedicate a thread or topic to Jack Fitzpatrick, an easy target on here, who has persevered through Chronic Fatigue, serious shoulder issues and Diabetes to keep himself on the list, when others, supposedly a lot better player than him, are being delisted. Let's debate what size balls he has to keep rocking up

I tried to provide a bit of a more personal insight into the training, obviously this is not appreciated by some, I am not sure why, perhaps instead of just sniping , they would like to explain why

I just tried to provide a bit of colour to anybody, who unlike the lucky few, can't actually get to a training session

We have some really good reporters as well, which I acknowledge, Ruffles and George on the Outer, to name a couple, going to the same session, I don't agree with some things they write, but I can write why and they debate it the whole idea of a forum

The other thing I allowed was for myself to be identified, both in writing and in photographs, I have nothing to be ashamed of I don't hide behind a keyboard or nickname, I have no respect whatsoever for those that do and snipe at those that don't

Just keep reporting Saty its much appreciated

Was training cancelled today?

I have just gone through 3 pages looking for a training report and all there is, is crap demon land is really starting to go down hill, it's sad that someone won't post a training report because a select few keyboard warriors try and discredit him each time, maybe mods should start getting rid of these morons, anyway I'm out no point me coming on here anymore

Ps thanks TDI for the reports pretty much the only reason I come on here in off season

Saty, I've had many a disagreement with you in the past, but have always appreciated your training reports and have posted my thanks.

I've always found your biting at every critic sad, but we are who are.

Thanks again for all the reports.

I certainly hope the players show more in adversity than you are at the moment.

No training wasn't cancelled

Not there King, Trengove, Bail - everybody else made an appearance of some sort

Hunt came, looked around and left after discussion with fitness staff

Neal Bullen back on the track, did a bit of running, he is feeling really good

Brayshaw is the latest poor sod to be struck with gastro, tried to train, he could laugh about it though

Vince, White, Watts, Howe (lifted his running speed again), Fitzy (on a deload day) and Garlo (with a bit of back tightness) all in rehab,

Ball movement/offensive drills again for most of the session, did a bit of running at the end, seemed to be an adlib it, Roos had to leave, so assume the last drill was cancelled and running substituted, lots of players stayed on after 'official' session was over doing bits and pieces, last off just for a change Cross, McKenze, Grimes, Vandenberg and Pedersen who seems to have joined their group

Petracca is certainly putting his hand up, stand out today along with Matt Jones (again), Kent, Hogan, Lumumba and Grimes

Any questons again feel free

Thanks for the report Saty, Pedo bear staying after training, does he do this often?

Can he keep up with the other 4?

Thanks for the reports Saty. I appreciate reading them and in my opinion it's better to be a glass half full kind of guy.

Based on the training efforts of both our 2014 national and rookie draft picks, if you had to pick one, who do you think is most likely to line up for us come round 1?

Good to see Pedo doing all he can to be best 22. vanddnBerg obviously doesn't want to go back to the mint.

Thanks Saty.

No Pedo is thriving, all the big men love the new diet, they are feeling leaner but stronger, Pedo is never going to be ripped, but he has no issues with the training, during the ball movement Roos has the big men up and down the ground

(Note it is not the personal insults, that is just childish, it is the constant carping, I find it boring, my lovely lady convinced to keep posting)

Jamar=Is he on track for R1?

What has got me optimistic is everybody is putting their hand up for Round 1 if they are fit,

Petracca has just stood out the last couple of sessions.

I reckon a sub appearance as a forward would give him a taste, he is bound to feature in the NAB cup anyway.

Vandenberg, Billy Stretch are doing everything now, don't think Oscar Mc will get a gig early, defence is too settled, but he is a work in progress anyway

Neal Bullen and White are on comeback trail at the moment

Harmes from last year has not put a foot wrong post Xnas either

Just over 30 players out on the track again for full session

With all the talk of the new players, from what I have seen, Matt Jones will not be stepping aside to let one of them in the team, think he is the ultimate Roos role player at the club and Roos likes what he brings

Glad to see you back TDI, last Friday when I was at training I meant to ask your opinion on Newton, in relation to some of the more established demon players.

In Fridays report and now today you don't mention him but there has been a lot of talk that he will play round one, do you see this as likely and if so who does he replace?

TDI, based on training and effectively 4 weeks less time, is Petracca in front of Toumpas for a starting 22 spot?

I understand the NAB challenge games will give a better indicator but currently?

I agree. Bail is similar and Jetts even more so. Jones and Bail will continue to be best 22 and it goes without saying Jets is is a lock. Jones and Bail personify the sort of two way runners the Roos game plan demands and both are the sort of solid citizens/role players Roos loves.

No from what I see at training they will have a different tole, looking at Toumpas half back/wing, Petracca up forward

We will be spoilt for choice in the middle, Michie, Newton, McKenzie, Riley, Viney, Cross were all solid today, with Matt Jones already mentioned, that's if you think Nate Jones and Tyson are picked

If only Bail could do more.

Do you see Bail in the 22 or do you think hell compete with Jones/Michie/Newton for that spot?

Well I think Vandenberg might get a spot in my Supercoach side - I think he is the Big unit midfielder we need. I wouldn't mind if they tried him as a run with player against the likes of J.Kennedy, Griffin etc. H

Sorry binman I don't agree

They are basically guys who try hard but don't have the necessary ability to lift us out of the bottom four IMO.

These guys need to be replaced by better players or we are not going a lot higher.

Watts has had a groin issue, I think they have been very very conservative with his return, there is always the danger of OP, they are doing the same with Bernie Vince, he was due back today but they made him wait another session before returning to full training, had a good natured whinge to me, used my joke about knowing every blade of grass around the edge of the oval personally

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
