Our midfield is probably the worst in the comp, but the forward line isn't much better. St Kilda, Brisbane, WB and Carlton are on par with us, pretty much every other team has us covered though.

Probably? By a country mile.

Probably? By a country mile.

Now that Hayes is gone, St Kildas is just as bad:

Top end talent:

Montagna, Steven, Armitage, Duncan

vs

N.Jones, Vince, Tyson, Viney

Foot Soldiers:

Newnes, Savage, Seb Ross, Ray

vs

M.Jones, Cross, Trengove, Michie

Anyone not listed averaged under 15 disposals in 2014. (Weller/ Billings vs Toumpas/ Riley)

If I had to choose between the two I'd almost take the dees midfield as it stands for 2015.

Off to Carlton...

Liam Jones to Carlton by all reports to replace Waite.

Carlton really do love their mediocre trades. Seem like a club just walking on the spot.

They are running on the spot.

It's a furious status quo.

I'm not sure how anyone could watch the Sydney midfield and think that our early picks would be well spent on mids.

The simple logic is that you can find star midfielders anywhere in the draft, star key forwards are only found in the first round.

Not sure what your point is. Franklin was the best forward on the ground and his team got smashed. Roughead played well, but received plenty of support from players who weren't anything like first round picks (eg Breust). That game, like the vast majority of games, was won in the midfield. That is where we should be spending up big.

I'm really keen to see who we replace Clark as a forward/ruck option.

For Roos to not try and retain Clark indicates to me that he has something sorted.

Cameron would do nicely.

Cameron would do more than nicely. I think I'd be more excited if we picked him up than if we snagged Dangerfield.

Cameron to Saints for pick 1 if anything. It should be the only exchange of a player for a pick that GWS do this year. I don't think they should be trading anyone else away anyway but don't mind they're just playing games of collect the first pick each year

Cue gif with girl saying 'why can't we have both?' :P

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
