Yeah, that extra $30 a week in rent really requires a 10% pay concession, essentially $30,000 on a salary of $300,000.

Spare me. That's a grand total of $1560 more per year. If they decide to live in freaking Bondi and pay exorbinant prices for rent, that's their bloody problem! I imagine players in Victoria choosing to live in Lorne or Sorrento would face a similar situation.

i will say this about the COLA.

either you index all clubs according to location (ie its cheaper to live in adelaide than sydney therefore adelaide's cap is smaller)

OR

You have 1 uniform salary cap.

I'll take the latter.

Oh, but that doesn't work in the AFL's favour. The media were going bananas about the Swans here in Sydney. Every network were talking about them and Buddy all week, it's huge news. In fact, the pub right outside my apartment was filled to the brim with fans wearing Swans geurnseys, all watching the game with much excitement (until quarter time).

Fact is, the AFL love this and will protect it at all costs. Don't think the Storm got as much love from Melburnites when they last made an NRL GF.

After today I've come to the conclusion we will never win a flag.. It seriously feel like we play in a different competition.. When I picture grand final day I can never see us there.

Like your confidence CB but I think it is way more than a couple required

As is often the case PF weekend produced the best footy.

The GF was a real let down.

Congrats to Hawthorn who have been a great club over the past 4 decades.

Premiers again however in reality very lucky to overcome Port, a side that we ran close on both occasions this year.

Good sides win the close ones gs

Poor sides lose them in the main

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
